I think the idea that this is us playing well tells us how low the bar has been set in recent months - we were second best for much of the game, and the few chances we did make came out of nothing. City were good for their win and look like a much better team, much as I hate to say it.

Yep, to each their own but I don't understand it, in anime or any other medium - I'd rather have incredibly crafted short stories than a mediocre 2-hour movie!
You'd be amazed how many people make their anime purchasing decisions purely based on value, i.e. how many minutes of content they're getting.
