Manitoba March escapades
I can’t imagine the horror from within. I can barely stand it from a distance. Sympathies.
It’s a pretty day in Winnipeg
Looks like the clouds tore open over Winnipeg this evening

Awe my son is going to the MB games for badminton in six weeks or so, and I was just telling him he would remember this forever!
It is the erosion of professionalism due to online marketplaces platforming kitchen table / mega sellers and warehousers IMHO. My mentor taught me that once a printed book is put on a shelf in the (new) bookstore, it is no longer ‘fine’.
Really good speech from Carney at the World Economic Forum today.
Genuinely gives the impression he understands the gravity of the moment, which is why I'm struggling to square it with his actual actions and policy re: the United States.

Happy birthday! 🥳
Sure thing! See you in April ;)
(And: long underwear is a necessity if you ever want to enjoy a Winnipeg winter)
The drunken river, folks.
Yes, that’s its proper name, since mid C19 (though some have sought an alternative with less character).

My shop is Bison Books. Not much sff alas. Would be happy to chat about book biz stuff if you could use an ear!
I hope you find a good spot! It can be tricky to find the right balance of busyness and affordability. I think we have the population to support more bookstores. (In the opinion of the owner of a Winnipeg bricks-and-mortar bookstore)
Gf cheesy garlic pull apart bread ftw on a chilly Winnipeg day
Early morning Winnipeg
JD Vance tweet reads: “While l'm sure the causes are complicated, no nation has leaned more into "diversity is our strength, we don't need a melting pot we have a salad bowl" immigration insanity than Canada. It has the highest foreign-born share of the population in the entire G7 and its living standards have stagnated.”
JD Vance follow up tweet reads: “And with all due respect to my Canadian friends, whose politics focus obsessively on the United States: your stagnating living standards have nothing to do with Donald Trump or whatever bogeyman the CBC tells you to blame. The fault lies with your leadership, elected by you.”
This guy can get fucked
For now, Aimee Peake can visit fellow shop owners along her strip — at the convenience store, the barber, the bong shop.
Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day – a time to raise awareness for the ongoing impacts of residential school and remember the children who never came home.
The dogs find my workouts exhausting
All of them! 🇨🇦❤️
