Two roughly humanoid heads fused together, each of their two sets of eyes look in different directions. Where mouths and teeth would be, there or arteries and veins, and some of them seem to slither and writhe as tentacles would

I'm glad you say so, that is reassuring! I wanted to make it very intentionally uncomfortable. I think making the eyes look dead / animalistic / difficult to read helps alot in making it feel uncanny.

Based on Stephen Gammell's cover illustration for 'Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark' by Alvin Schwartz. A clown skull is smoking a pipe over a dreamy landscape.

I feel like people forget that the purpose of conversation isn't to convert someone to think exactly like you do. Conversation is a learning tool. There is value in trying to have genuine conversations even if you disagree with someone.

Conversation allows for seeing different perspectives, understanding your own beliefs and others more thoroughly. But when people are obsessed with shutting others down, or just "winning" there is nothing to learn or gain.

In general I don't like any community that has this insane expectation on you to think the exact same like everyone else. I feel alot better being in communities that have the maturity to go "we don't agree with everything, but i'll still have polite conversation with you". Feels alot less stressful

"You disagree with the hivemind, you must be ___PHOBIC." Incredible. A community that uses peer pressure, guilt tripping, and fear! Haven't heard that one before. So fucking cult-ish. A healthy community doesn't shut people down, it encourages conversation.

If a community gets on your ass for having any sort of constructive criticism maybe it is a massive red flag. I am too autistic to be brainwashed into a hivemind.

Like for the record I am part of the LGBTQ+ community too but I honestly do feel like some people in the community are overly sensitive or just have very regressive views. It becomes so extreme that it just 180's into bullshit controlling beliefs that we tried to get away from.

LGBTQ+ community will be like, "people can't choose their sexuality you just have to respect it" until they meet a person who won't specifically date them like. Dude. Come on.

Idk maybe it is easier for me because I actually am severely uncomfortable with having people attracted to me but having someone not attracted to you isn't the end of the world. You have BILLIONS of other people out there, why is it that some people not dating you the hill you choose to die on.

11 months ago 0 0 1 0

I have seen people say "If you don't date me that means you want [insert identity here] to DIE and you support GENOCIDE" bro. This incel ass nonsense. You are not immune to being a lame ass incel, get over it you will feel happier.

Literally same logic with dating. Maybe a person relates better, feels more comfortable, or simply just prefers it. Why does who someone date have to be some political issue when it shouldn't be at all. It is their business, not yours.

Like it is the same thing with how we choose friendships too. Does not working out as friends mean they hate you? No. Sometimes people just DONT CLICK and that's OK. I usually have friends who have been through some sort of trauma because I click better with them, it doesn't mean I hate others.

"But it might mean they're transphobic / racist / etc.!" or maybe their dating preference is completely separate from their belief system. Maybe the problem isn't with them, its with people trying to force people into dating people they are not attracted to.

Tbh I am really tired of people treating dating preference (often something people have no control over) as a dictator for moral code. I feel like people end up vomiting out the same nonsense shut-in incels do because they can't handle the fact someone might not date them.

Or those same clowns getting drunk and getting into car crashes LOL

I forget what it is called but it is related to Mr. Bungle, but there is this book that showcases artwork of clowns going to kid parties, but in reality its just a drunken older man who is fed up with his job. It tears down the whimsical expectations of it, and slaps you with a very adult reality.

Todd Schorr's art comes to mind. It is so skillfully made and even if it is humorous and "what the fuck!?" I really like it. I kind of like embracing this idea that humanity is full of itself and in truth we have to be reminded we're a bunch of dumbasses.

I always felt like my artwork was most authentic when I wanted to make something look very intentionally like this essence of stupid dumbassery. Cyriak has great art that exudes this vibe in my opinion. Some other american surrealist artists do as well.
