The EU’s Digital Omnibus Must Be Rejected by Lawmakers. Here is Why. | TechPolicy.Press The Omnibus leaves gaps that undermine a rights-centred approach and expand room for dominant actors, writes Itxaso Domínguez de Olazábal.

Behind the rhetoric of “competitiveness,” the Digital Omnibus embeds deregulatory changes that weaken GDPR, narrow ePrivacy, fragment protections, and tilt the ecosystem further toward powerful actors, writes Itxaso Domínguez de Olazábal.

from twitter account @ellewasamistake: gotta respect the longevity of microsoft word. nothing about it works and it's still the standard. want to move an image? go to hell. edit a pdf? edit your expectations. ignore a spelling mistake? how about suck my dick. that'll be 150$

So... we're excited to launch: Moderator Mayhem (which we've spent the last few months building, in partnership with Engine). A browser-based mobile content moderation simulator game: https://moderatormayhem.engine.is/

Just noting: we made this game browser playable on purpose. It's not in an app store. It's not meant to be in an app store. Some of us still believe in the browser.

Small-logo for the Unchaind movement; four circular nodes have four independent horizontal lines radiating from them in parallel.

So how do we feel about using BlueSky to spitball early ideas?

It feels like we're ready for a post-blockchain movement, so I've been prototyping this: https://www.unchaind.org

If you're also ready for the coin-free world, would love your feedback/edits! (Repo is open source on GitHub as well)

Is there any "branding" yet around what LLMs have done to web application development?

I'm less interested in the "AI changes everything!" rhetoric, and more in the "cacheing has moved from x to y; delegated auth is harder because z; scaling and load balancing needs new patterns a, b and c".

NOTE regardless of network, scraping happens and can't really be stopped. For years a bot reposted my every tweet. Please be careful. BlueSky is a playground - not a different universe - even if we rejoice in momentary reprieve.

there’s already other servers out there bc this is open source code, they just don’t federate with ours yet. we’re getting close to a dev sandbox environment to test/debug in, but the social piece of federation (this server talking to everyone) we plan to roll out with some form of reputation system
