Great 5 days at #WCCHoops tourney. Attended 17 games—best ones today, glad to have 2 championships. Feels odd to think we won’t be back to the Orleans but looking forward to more success in Pac12! #GoZags

Picture of 2 iPads with basketball. One showing Gonzaga women, other Gonzaga men playing overlapping games.
In México, can’t hook up HDMI cable or get airplay to work. So dueling iPads! (Grateful for VPN that allows streaming.) Great win for women, hoping for same from men. #GoZags
And why Few is a great coach. Huge win and he’s still looking for things to improve.
I’m here. Got tickets through Gonzaga. Have tickets for M & T, they say 3rd game to be determined. There are games Wednesday afternoon & Thursday so I am pretty sure everyone plays 3 games, just the oddness of who gets top games.
Tip off of Gonzaga vs. Carroll women’s basketball game
2 weeks post-op from a big abdominal surgery. Made it to first half of Zag women’s game yesterday, planning same for Zag men today. Can’t miss my #Zags! (Grateful for great care & driving by DH.) #GoZags
Checked at vote.wa.gov, my ballot was accepted. In unincorporated county so only voted for school bond, state referendum & 1 contested school board race. But have never missed an election! #vote
Can we get an update with the new signings?
2 yrs JUCO—should get 1 back. COVID yr at Kansas, doesn’t count. 2 yrs out with heart condition. 2 yrs at GCU. So has only played 3 yrs that count. Problem for NCAA is you have to get 4 years in the first 5 years you are eligible; they are saying his 2 medical years are not “extraordinary”.
Being a patient is no fun. But grateful for excellent care by surgeons, anesthesiologist, and nursing staff. And helpful that I speak the language. I can see how this can be overwhelming for people with no medical background.
Selfie at the game.

We’re here! Along with >40,000 Seattle Mariners fans (and some Toronto Blue Jays fans, but not nearly as many as come to regular season games). #ALCS game 3. Hoping for another excellent game and a big Ms win. ⚾️🔱 #SeizeTheMoment #TridentsUp #GoMariners
Checked in for morning flight from Spokane to Seattle. Cannot wait to be at #ALCS game 3. #SeizeTheMoment #TridentsUp #GoMariners
Truly hope I didn't jinx them but now have presale tickets to ACLS game 3 and World Series game 4 in Seattle. #TridentsUp #SeizeTheMoment
Away for #ALDS. Bought presale tickets to #ACLS game 1, which could be 10/12 or 10/15. Made refundable hotel reservations and miles plane tickets for both dates. #SeizeTheMoment #GoMariners
At the opening session of the AAFP Congress of Delegates. Honored to be asked to serve as parliamentarian. Looking forward to excellent work on behalf of our members & patients in challenging times. #AAFPCOD
Thanks. Will have to watch for the sale for those, though they won't know the schedule until the ADLS series are decided.
Did you have to “buy” all 3 potential games or could you just buy one game? Out of town for ALDS but could fly over from Spokane for one specific ALCS game…
Tip off in Seattle Storm-Las Vegas Aces playoff game.
Continuing our growing tradition of traveling for sports, flew to Seattle this morning to attend Seattle Storm playoff game. If this awesome crowd has anything to do with it, hoping for a big win for the Storm! #LightTheCity #everyonewatcheswomenssports
So sorry Steven. That is so hard. Condolences.
Today at South Perry Farmers Market, owner asked if anyone spoke Russian. Woman from back of line helped elderly couple with payment issue. Kudos to owner for asking for help & woman for
helping. Love that Spokane welcomes refugees & immigrants & no one in line thought this was an odd request!
Concerning "sign of the times" we are in. Went to Sacred Heart medical center yesterday to support FM residents. They are screening for measles symptoms at the door and asking people to go away or at least mask. Glad I could tell them no symptoms & know I'm immune. #VaccinesWork #VaccinesSaveLives
Getting ready to follow @mariners.com to east coast. Working on bucket list to see them in all ballparks. At BAL Wednesday, at NYM Friday, at PHL Monday. #tridentsup @rootsportsnw.bsky.social
“Immunizations work, they are very effective and safe, and they save lives. Vaccines are among the most rigorously studied and effective tools in public health.”
Kudos to AAFP, AAP, ACOG, ACP, IDSA for this.

On a study abroad trip in college. Our group got front row seats for audience with Pope John Paul II. He came over to say hello and shook my hand! (I’m not Catholic but this gave me good cred as a grad student at Gonzaga.)
Confirmed from Spokesman video that the waft was tear gas. More police vehicles going by. So far no announcements in stadium. Wonder if they’ll alert people not to go south at end of game.
Surreal. Calmly watching Spokane Velocity soccer match not far from this action. Some people on a hill adjacent to stadium looking downtown & waft of something came close. Hope all stay safe. With them in spirit.
Graph showing incidence of invasive HIB dropping to near zero very quickly after introduction of infant vaccine.

Saw HIB meningitis (yes, spinal needles with pus) in kids many times in residency late 80s. It WENT AWAY after 1990 vaccine. Not overreacting to this craziness.
When I was in practice my go-to source for information, especially about infectious diseases and immunizations, was the CDC. Very sad for my colleagues still practicing medicine and for all people that this public health resource is no longer so reliable.
Saw Mission Impossible Final Reckoning. Best thing: competent Black woman president. And several other strong women in non-traditional roles.
