Another MoCCA Fest has been attended, lived, covered, rocked, rolled, enjoyed & now lives forever as a happy memory!

One of my favorite weekends of the year… MoCCA Fest is here!
And it established them excellently but that’s all they got the chance to do– ESTABLISH. They only established the ground floor because they thought they had time.
We’re really ‘comparing apples & oranges’ here. Animated & live-action. Completed vs. canceled.
I love them both very much.
Oh… I think they’re both excellent but… no. No.
Maybe if “Firefly” didn’t get cancelled at episode 14. But that’s a big BIG maybe.
It’s really hard for me to think of this project as nostalgia at all.
It lasted for 14 episodes. It might finally get a chance to be something to get nostalgic about!
And the comic-books pushed the story forward when Whedon and 20th Century Studios gave up on making more. We already have that.
Well, maybe someday I’ll get past episode 6 or so of “Outlaw Star”.
So you’re saying I shouldn’t have stopped with “Outlaw Star” at episode nine or wherever I stopped 25 years ago?
Trump warned me that if I voted for Kamala Harris we’d have higher prices and a government-run economy at home and new wars abroad, and I voted for Harris and that’s exactly what we got.
I love when I see this in the numbers at When Does It Take Place? (whendoesittakeplace.blogspot.com) It’s not exactly breaking the bank for advertising hits but it means someone found the site, got some use from it, & learned something related to a thing they love!

Remember
Unexpected experience of the month: You browse eBay for comics & stumble on one you yourself edited– for sale in a big mixed lot of Marvel, DC, & indie comics. Then you remember it was a rare case you were credited for your contributions on the cover! So your name’s there for sale on eBay. Weird.
I was born in an Iranian prison. My parents were held in their jails. My uncles lie in their mass graves. Nothing you can tell me about the crimes of the Iranian regime that I haven't lived in blood and bone. That doesn't mean I want my people bombed, maimed, killed, their homes in ruins. If your vision of liberation comes only through the destruction of innocent lives, then it's not freedom you're after. Sahar Delijani, Iranian author
I am pro Iranian people. I stand with them against their own government’s repression AND against the imperial violence in the form of bombs dropped from the sky from Israel & the US who have already killed hundreds.
I support neither imperialism or dictatorship.
Sahar Delijani said it best:
Sometimes, writing these entries requires an insane puzzle game of logic and deep research to figure out. And sometimes, it’s really easy as pie. whendoesittakeplace.blogspot.com/2026/02/when...
Writing a story is like excavating the site of an ancient Roman ruin; you have to chip away at it until it reveals itself to you.
Some of us have ideas for stories & then lose focus as the thing gets bigger & bigger. My advice if you’ve lost your way: Forget everything, write a new page 1, &, if you like it, build from there. Don’t throw out all the old notes, but reincorporate them ONLY when you’re stuck.
I don't think Netflix should get to eat anything else until it finishes all the prematurely cancelled shows on its plate
Another example of an entry in this insane, massive, never-ending, impossible project to track when every story ever made happened that… actually came out pretty okay.

I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.
Am I the only person who literally has dreams where I find very weird comic-books in Las Vegas hotel lounges?
Possibly, right?
A 14 panel comic, a top tier of five panels shows a drawing of me, and in each of the subsequent panels the drawing of me gets simpler and simpler, with a cartoony drawing, a crude cartoon, then a stick man, then a smily face then a simple blob. Each time I'm saying "Hi" Tier two, panel one, the smiley face is sad and saying "PJ! I can't draw!" "How can I make comics" Panel 2, me as a simple cartoon "Oh that's ok, comics work..." panel 3, me as a very crudely drawn figiure my head tilted at a funny angle and Im saying "No matter your skill level" Panel 4 more simplistic drawing of me holding a ruler "As long as you can (sorta) draw a straight line " "(I use a ruler)" Panel 5 even more simple drawing "And a bubble" next (final) tier Panel 1 A simple circle with two dots for eyes and a small line for a mouth and a balloon coming from his mouth saying "People can be quite forgiving about the artwork" Panel 2 the round simple face meets a spikey simple face, spikey says "I'm not - I like GOOD artwork" me - "Oh" Panel 3 me (still a smiley face, but straight line mouth ) I have two stick arms raised up with little stick fingers and I'm saying "...Sorry..." Spike says "Bah" Panel 4 (last panel) Me, slightly better drawn (but only just) "OK - not everyone is quite forgiving about art" "BUT I AM" "Good luck!"
A comic about making comics (the alt text took longer to write than the comic did to draw * I drew this a few years ago)

Both angles work for me!
I think I’m going to add it in at sone point with a big note that it should be treated as a “production mistake”…
A new low in ‘Is this real or is this a joke?’ material.
