It was the last of the applied funds I had in game.
Upside if I have to crowdfund that particular idea there will be no governmental bodies involved.

This was me until 20 minutes ago when I got the decline.
A pink and purple dragon is coming through a gold ring. Around the ring are scratcher stickers.
I made a giant scratcher ticket for my booth next weekend as a break from line work.
I might still put some lettering around the edge, I haven't decided yet.
Oh snap- apologies for the pun. I only just caught that...
Me neither. I've done a bit with 19th century stuff because its worth knowing for my California books with Stockton being a port town during the Gold Rush. But I am drawing a blank for earlier than 15th century.
@aidanosullivan.bsky.social Would you happen to know anyone working on medieval assaying? I'm working on a commission currently and want to make certain I understand the process enough to do the sequence properly.
Congratulations!
"Did you just fart with your face in this room? Eww. That means it was too gross for your butt."
If you've ever been to the Boarding School exhibit at the Heard in Phoenix- as close to that hard as one can get with an illustrated map.
Hey #archaeology and #arthistory friends I'm working on a local illustrated map at the moment. I was wondering if I have anyone working on WW2 material amongst my extended network. I'd like to make this one hit particularly hard because *dumpster fire times*.
25 year career taken out by stupid lack of funding to the schools that need the funds most. I have words but they won't do any good.
Today is the last work day my subbing permit is valid. I can't afford to replace it. I've only been booked 3 days out of the last 3 months. I have worked for 2 companies this year and it's the worst yet. Last couple of years I was booked out a couple of months in advance.
Prostitute, pardon. Its early here still and I've not yet made tea this morning.
My favorite one so far, with a bit of traction here in California, has been "Watching Melania's journey from Slovenia prostitue to First Lady is like walking across a floor of Legos with explosive diarrhea."
I never apply for any of those "opportunities". Not only can I not afford it but also it takes time from doing the visual work that actually does pay.
Even bartering art for research pdfs pays me better.

✏️ #TBT to the research and sketching that goes into each page of my illustrations. ✨ Bringing history to life through art is a rewarding challenge. This week's focus: revisiting my osteology notebook from undergrad. #HistoricalArt #CreativeProcess #ThrowbackThursday

Hi Alex! My name is Dayanna. I'd love to chat with you in DM about this. I'm the archaeological illustrator behind the Viking Coloring Book published in 2017 by @acmrs.bsky.social.

Many thanks to @sanjoaquinaudubon for funding my first new project of 2026- a local birding poster to help teach in class and at events! #sciart #archaeologicalillustrator

A blue glass bottle with an octopus engraved in gold.
I've taken up engraving recently. Here is my octopus practice bottle. It's hard to photo.
A horse looks back at you. It’s got its left front leg raised, ready to begin doing something. The horse wears bridle and saddle that are inspired by Tang Dynasty statues.
