Ya! My kiddo just signed up for #uoregon today! I'm so excited for him!

I had forgotten how much I enjoyed watching Andy Rooney until @sfotony.bsky.social brought him up today. Now I've spent a bunch of time watching old YouTube videos of him. One of the good ones I've come across so far that I can still totally relate to.

Making things is hard, making things people like is harder, if you make things I'm glad you're out there doing it.
Been working on this one for a while — it's a little bit of history of a key foundation of internet technology, and a little bit of an explainer about how people _actually_ invent things. This is the amazing (true!) story of how Markdown took over the world. www.anildash.com/2026/01/09/h...
How many @microsoft.com engineers does it take to change a lightbulb?
None, they just opened the Windows. 🤣😜
(shamelessly stolen #dadjoke from work slack joke channel)
This is just my opinion but ...
On Mon Jan 5th, 2026 11am PT I'll be talking about #ArgoCD (from @argoproj.bsky.social ); specifically #ApplicationSets advanced use-cases you might find interesting & some other tips & tricks. It'll be on #ArgoUnpacked with @todaywasawesome.com & Revital Barletz. www.youtube.com/live/-_BYXCX...
Do I know anyone who works at #Slack? If so, can they make an awesome new feature that let's me merge channels to reduce the friggin sprawl I'm dealing with for the duplicate topic channels I keep getting added to? That would be so incredible!

I got a new kitten today!!! I'm so excited! He's 5 months old and was named Spirit. I like the name so I think we'll keep it but we'll see what my kid says when he gets home. 💖😁😹
Two KubeCons, One Conference: While Everyone Demos AI Agents, Engineers Are Fighting With Syslogs
I think this is one of the reason I have not been at many conferences, but rather to barcamps in the last years - you hear the status quo.
Haha, I hear ya. I hear rumors of rumors even in the single small chat I'm in. lol
There's also a few unofficial Signal channels floating around depending on who you know
@todaywasawesome is kicking off #ArgoCon 2025 in Atlanta!
We’re starting strong with an incredible fact: 66% of Kubernetes users are already using Argo projects 💙 — a true testament to the power, adoption, and community behind Argo CD, Workflows, Rollouts, and Events.

A very handsome black and tan Rottweiler service dog sitting down, wearing a KubeCon NA conference badge that says “Bruno Simmons”. He’s being a very good boy!
I’m here at the Red Hat booth at #openaiday at #kubeconna and they made Bruno his own badge!
I've been off social media for a while now for a mental break, but I'm back this week to watch the #kubecon feeds. Still avoiding the main feed though. Geez I wish I was in Atlanta with everyone! FOMO is real
That's sucks, sorry to hear that. Good luck with her recovery.
Is it just me or is it now cheaper to pay for cable than for all the streaming services?!? The back of napkin math isn't looking so nice...
Love this: "Apple could, rather than creating golden bribes for child sexual predators, actually send a message to its users explaining that it would like to continue providing value to its customers, and ask those customers for help making that case to their elected officials"
I so wish I could be there for this. It looks like it'll be a great event. #fomo
I can't believe looking Hispanic or speaking Spanish is now evidence of a crime. That's next level racist bullshit!
On the flip side, does that mean we can start arresting the ultra rich on suspicion of embezzlement & other crimes just because they are rich? That's what that ruling implies, right?
This is useful btw!
Forbes article: Clock Botching’: Why It’s Trending And 4 Signs To Spot It At Work By Bryan Robinson, Ph.D.,Contributor. author of Chained to the Desk in a Hybrid World: A Guide to Balance. Sep 03, 2025, 06:00am EDT What's causing the new trend known as "clock botching"—when employees are clocked in but not engaged with their work. What are the signs? And what strategies can business leaders use to help disengaged employees? There’s a new workplace trend on the rise called “clock botching,” when employees look busy, but aren’t actually producing meaningful results. Unlike presenteeism, where sick employees still show up, “clock botching” manifests in employees stretching small tasks into entire afternoons and keeping their calendars full while disengaging emotionally from their work. The trend has led to employee under performance and productivity and a dip in the company’s bottom line. But why is “clock botching” trending? And what can companies do about it?
So weird how no one invented "looking busy at work despite not being busy" until recently. You'd think someone would've come up with that before now, but no, it's a new trend, with a name that is definitely real and commonly used.
I BBQ'd burgers for lunch today and I did it _without pain_!!! I'm so happy right now. 🥳
The Argo team has to consider that type of scenario with these disclosures and not assume everyone is following best practices. Hell, if everyone followed best practices so many CVEs would be a much lower severity due to defense in depth
That's all it should be but you never know what someone is doing. What if someone is running some HR/finance system deployment on the same Argo CD as something else & stores credentials to that system in their git repo because it's private? They shouldn't do that but we all know people do it anyway.
Heads up for those of you out there running #ArgoCD instances; especially in a multi-tenant model.
github.com/argoproj/arg...
Not really. There are companies that provide multi-tenant Argo CD services. Even within the same company there can be very strict requirements on access to code repos between teams for security or other reasons.
IDK, normally I'd agree with you, but this is a multi-tenancy thing. This is the equivalent of some read only GitHub token being able to access your private GitHub repo. That would be considered a 10, right?
The president of the United States just declared war, actual military war, not a metaphorical one, on a major American city, and one governed by his political opponents.
In any other period, this would be impeachment-worthy.
This is a beautiful way to think about it
