É bem por ai mesmo! Eu também tava pensando no pessoal que só lê mangá quando eu escrevi isso. Dá pra incluir o artista hipotético que acha que desenho hiper renderizado é o supra-sumo da arte, escritor que se prende muito em tropo/gênero e aquela curadoria horrorosa dos melhores jogos da história
também está mais suscetível a repetir vícios. Influencias fora a caixa não vão chegar em você passivamente e a construção de um repertório diverso/robusto é um esforço e uma habilidade como qualquer outra em arte. Repertório demais nunca faz falta, o contrario nem tanto.
Há de se fazer um caso pra pessoas que viram refém de um repertório muito limitado/restrito e desenvolvem uma concepção imatura do que é possível fazer com a mídia. Uma pessoa que carrega uma serie de concepções prévias (e as vezes erradas) vai ser mais difícil de ensinar do que uma pessoa nova e+
Me lembrei agora de uma discussão que eu tive sobre se era necessário você ler quadrinhos pra fazer eles. Eu acho que dá pra expandir essa pergunta pra: é necessário construir repertório artístico na sua área pra fazer arte?

Drawing is a good skill to have in 3D and If you want to get into painterly texture, i hightly recommend looking into retopology and UV unwrapping

There's a neat 3D challenge called 256fes were you have to put together a character only using 256 tris and a 256x256 texture. I think It sounds like something right up your alley If you're interested in low Poly! c:
I do feel like there are diminishing returns to learning 3D for drawing reference past the basics, unless it's something you really want to get into.
These posable rigs are cool and fun to play with, but they're such an ordeal to put together xD

Overall, i really enjoyed the read! I'm nerdy enough about the stuff that i was anticipating some stuff that eventually got adressed (xenonite insulation, them leaving the Hail Mary in Erid's orbit)
The bit with using the atrophage engines as a radar to locate the adrift Blip-A was fantastic!
Both in the book and the movie there's not much weight to the decision of going back to earth or saving Rocky/Erid. Honestly, If It weren't for his food supply i don't think Grace would have thought twice about It.
Still, i think them reuniting is the highlight of both!
And personally, i really vibe with It...not that i was expecting a romantic subplot with Rocky or anything 😂
