Virginia guarantees Dominion a 9.8% profit on every dollar it spends building infrastructure. The more they build, the more they earn. Now there are 88 transmission projects driven solely by data centers costing $2.4 billion.

Dominion's website literally advertised Virginia as "the ideal choice" for data centers, promising to be "a true partner in growing your data center footprint." Now their own spokesperson admits prices are going up because of them:
