Yes, Baker Street is the song I was about to name too! There was something hauntingly familiar about it, if I can be forgiven for quoting Stevie Nicks, even the first time I heard it. I still stop and listen any time I hear it.

Yes! We have this one, except that it has an insulated stainless steel carafe that keeps the coffee warm a little longer. It’s a good 10 years old and makes excellent coffee.
Yes, that’s one of the things that really worries me. Corporations are using LLMs to replace entry-level people— so when more experienced people move on (change jobs, retire, die…), there won’t be any competent humans available to replace them.
I’m curious: How sure are you that it’s accurately summarizing information, rather than “hallucinating”?
I usually use Stella Parks’ recipe for waffles on the Serious Eats website. I find them quick to make and delicious. Please let us know when/if you settle on a favorite!

I keep thinking the same thing. It’s basically an Onion headline: Good-Looking Actor Says Dumb Thing.
Yes, Charlotte— the last surviving Brontë child. There’s controversy over what she died of, but hyperemesis gravidarum (the same thing that sent Princess Kate to the hospital with all three of her pregnancies) is definitely one of the possibilities.
But not because of TB.
It’s also so, so funny in many places! That came as a big shock to me.
The words "$2.99 e-book deal! Today only!" are at the top of this flyer. Below them, the cover of Automatic Noodle is shown against a background of flowers.
Today only, Automatic Noodle e-books are on sale for $2.99 on all platforms! Grab one while they're still hot and chewy! bookshop.org/p/books/auto...
“Anecdotal evidence also suggests that men are being pushed out of the literary world.” Ah, yes, the famously reliable anecdata.
…my daughter, a professional chef and lifelong foodie, just informed us that she tried the Maneschewitz box mix and the resulting latkes were “pretty great”! I was shocked.
My spouse makes us delicious latkes every year, and I make the applesauce to go with them. We just had them yesterday! But I draw the line at baking my own bagels. Living in a bagel desert is one of my personal nightmares.
Pretty sure it’s Minnesotan, so thank you. My spouse just said, “No, that’s not the same as New York angry.”
I’m pretty sure that was my very first movie! My grandmother took me. I remember loving the umbrella with the parrot head.
I just had a flashback to sitting at the breakfast table, reading the cereal box while I ate my Froot Loops!
It’s unclear to me how a supporter of better legal protection for working people in the US thinks they make a good argument by defending this absolutely dreadful person.
I… just use my phone? Do people not do that anymore?
We watched the parade and now we’re watching the dog show! I adore the Roches, though— I was fortunate enough to get to see them in concert a couple of times.
Remember how you thought you didn’t like maple syrup until your wife got you to try the real thing? That, but with turkey cooked by someone who knows how to cook turkey.
Right? Sleep should be unconstrained! (Full disclosure: my own kids actually never had official bedtimes! But it’s not like we let them stay up all night, either. 😆)
Very much not ok. Trying hard to handle it all without letting go of the things we enjoy and the people we love. We appreciate you and hope that Canada can continue to model some level of general sanity for the world.
Bedtime is the actual worst.
Thank you so much!
That’s fantastic! Can you point me toward where I can find the spreadsheet? I’ve used it in the past but wasn’t able to find it this year. Also have a few of this year’s books I might add. Wonder if it’s worth adding my favorite shifter romances, just on principle.
I like C best, then A. B looks muddy and dirty to me.
IKEA! Just some oak and some pine and a handful of Norsemen.
The ritual sorting of the Halloween candy is one of the things I really miss about having kids at home!
This thread is very insightful and worth reading. I’m finding it helpful to think about.
That’s by Andy Weir…
