Swagat Brooklyn. Best tandoori and chicken biryani in south Wellington.

More concerningly, I've realised Wellington Cat's Protection must have been cut off by that huge landslide on Vancouver Street.
I hope someone's been able to get through to feed the kitties.
My favourite local Indian restaurant has been flooded out. Fuck this bullshit weather.
And, just to show how some people can't even look out a window, a post on a local Facebook page just now "does anyone know why xxx street is closed?"
I mean. Really?
I wouldn't want to go out in this weather regardless!
The best King Arthur ever (after Graham Chapman, of course.)
It should be no laughing matter but... "self-evacuate" will never not make me laugh.
NDAs exist for that very reason.
Honestly, too busy either sleeping or working!
No, we're fine. Cut off by landslides on all the roads leading up here, but I wasn't planning on going out until Wednesday anyway.
Would not like to be down in the Owhiro Valley, though. Local facebook pages are not looking good.
Here comes the rain again.
Falling on my head like a memory.
Oh this song is a "bop" is it? You know what wasn't a bop? The charred wreckage near Clear Lake Iowa on the night of February 3, 1959, where a plane crash killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper. The song written about it is a bop, though.
I guess you allow your tenants to have them?
Yep, even social housing.
Don't avoid the question: do you own the place you live in?
... you own your own home, I guess?
That's the privilege.
Can't have a vege garden in a rental.
"Listen, sonny, when I am king my word shall be the law!"
Fucking bargain basket Trump. We so don't need him.
Surely the first thing any grown-up journalist should do, upon hearing Winston's "supermarket policy" is to ask "how?"
That, and "no one else is being sought in connection to the incident" or even the simple "has been referred to the Coroner" all carry the same tragic subtext.
Coded phrases from the police, like, "no risk to the wider public", always weigh so heavily.
Schroedinger's thunder storm?
It apparently hit Kingston hard - hence, despite this being an older suburb, the houses have mostly been built from 1970 onwards.
The golf course isn't the natural course.
I've had to tell my current landlord, who was wondering why all these house in Kingston seemed to ne built about the same time in the early 70s, that there was a great fucking storm in about 1968 that destroyed a bunch of houses. Oh, and also sunk a ship.
To be honest, there wasn't even a Kelson im the 80s.
And don't get me started on Kirtonville, or whatever they named that suburb on the western side of the Hutt River.
Oooh, nice cut.
I'm so Gen X, I'm the man in a box.
And, meanwhile, Wellington is considering water meters. To be paid by the property owner.
... I can't see how that could possibly used to fuck over renters. Not at all.
Hey, I'm sorry if I sort of caused this angst for you.
You're ok.
And, we are a community. At least I hope so?
Terry Pratchett tells me the other was "withershins".
An article I wrote for men about "Rape Academy."
Women already know this & I say this with full awareness of how uncomfortable it makes men: Most men are not safe to be around alone.
This is not sustainable & men must lead the change. Men, we need to talk: qasimrashid.substack.com/p/men-we-nee...
