NIN "Vessel" live on the Lights in the Sky 2008 tour, with visuals by me. I was reminded of this after seeing “Vessel” in the "Nine Inch Noize" Coachella set and appreciating how it referenced some of my visual elements from back in the day. I wrote about it at www.patreon.com/posts/155650...

A flatscreen display on a "smart" water fountain, demanding to be reconnected to the internet.

In 1999, I was playing a decker in Shadowrun, and tried to distract a guard by hacking a water fountain to overflow, and my GM said "why would a water fountain be on the network? That's fucking stupid. No you can't try."

Well it's 2026 and I just want you to know, Phil, that I FUCKING CALLED IT!

My entire Dad’s side of the family is super Catholic. I’ve never appreciated that part of my family history all that much, except for appreciating the 1+ it gave my enjoyment of shows like Evil or any other show/game/novel/art influenced by the Catholic Church. Gotta say though, VERY into this Pope.

Magali! I didn’t realize this art was you! I love the whole thing but I ❤️ the little lizard tongues the most.

My in-laws got me this for Christmas, and I have 100% said “Thank god for Battery Daddy!” when we forget to recharge our rechargeable batteries.

Two images of the Belcher children (From the show "Bob's Burgers") standing next to each other staring at the camera. Tina is saying "She doesn't have that gym strength but she's got that inner demon strength that you do not want to mess with."

Tacoma, Wa checking in - went to Target yesterday to pick up a prescription from CVS, the entire deodorant aisle (along with nearly every other aisle in health/self care) is locked behind plexiglass.

While reading this thread the example of a school teacher choosing a student to help with small tasks came to mind. Emptying the pencil sharpener shavings, feeding the fish, etc - simple tasks, but to a child the honor is in being chosen; being publicly recognized as capable for the chosen tasks.

man you learn about all the different heresies and schisms in Catholicism throughout history and you roll your eyes like "wow these guys sure were stupid, no one would ever do that now" and then

No shade to the OP for admitting this, but it shocks me that people my age don’t know this.

You fundamentally cannot understand how the world functions, how power works, if you don’t know history.

You can always count on Ethel Cain to do the thing that actively drives casual fans away. I’m honestly impressed she opened with American Teenager; I was 100% sure we were gonna get a setlist full of ambient Perverts deep cuts. (I thought the setlist ruled, despite her skipping many of my faves)

I missed The XX, first half of Sabrina, and would love to revisit Ethel Cain

People have been shocked that an AI company is offering chats with an AI Jesus for $1.99/minute but it's important to remember and respect the fact that a core part of American evangelicalism is being financially defrauded by people who claim to speak for god

Tldr, we are at our best when we work together and learn from each other and those who came before us and Elon simply cannot grok that.

(I’M SORRY BUT IT WAS RIGHT THERE)

Most of the things I am most proud of in my professional life (Mars Curiosity rover, Fukushima nuclear disaster response, Destiny 2: The Final Shape, various MtG creative pushes, other stuff) are all a result of brilliant and weird [tone tag complementary] people working towards a common goal.

And this is not new! Ask ANY woman, person of color, or other minority. There are a whole lot of (usually) men out there who think this way, it’s just that Elon being a billionaire makes it infinitely worse and obviously visible.

See also; Thai cave rescue, DOGE, his sabotage of public transportation funding with his dumb Boring company, etc etc - he can’t comprehend that there are people and institutions out there far better and more capable than anything he’ll ever be able to accomplish.

I suspect another reason Elon has been silent on the Artemis II mission is because he is literally sulking. Part of him knows Space X could never pull this off. He believes that he is always the smartest and best boy in all the world and it infuriates him when reality reminds him of his mediocrity.

i will never forget how elon musk said absolutely nothing at all about the NASA artemis ii mission except one post making fun of that women who took the photo of the launch in the reflection of her glasses. he hates space

A few have suggested that some aspects of this mission--joy, international teamwork, diversity--are being played up to stick it to the hateful attitude of the administration. But I don't think it's that. I think it's just that those things are essential to and inseparable from a mission like this.

Anyways you should all take some time to go play Day of the Tentacle, one of the greatest adventure games of all time. When I first played it as a kid I had a big crush on Laverne, which honestly explains a lot about who I am as a person.
