And yeah - he's the leader of Canada's most populous province and economic centre, so of course he's going to be under more scrutiny. He needs to grow up and act like someone interested in governing

An Open Letter to Members of the Legislative Assembly Working towards the recognition, implementation and exercise of our inherent Indigenous Title, Rights and Treaty Rights

"First Nations should not be asked by the Crown to compromise their human rights. No other segment of society is asked to put their rights on hold while the government seeks to appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada to undermine those very rights." www.ubcic.bc.ca/open_letter_...

Friends who were young SFU academics in the 60s say that it was by design. Vancouver didn't want radical thinkers missing with the populace in general

When will local governments clap back and say "You have garages and driveways: that's where your car goes. Don't buy another car unless you have a private place to keep it". If they complain it's for the tenants - you wouldn't rent out a place without a bathroom, so plan the car storage too.

Robert Reich 34K likes, 6.3K comments. "A Warning from 1994 of a Two-Tiered Society | Robert Reich"

In 1994, I took a lot of heat for this speech warning that the American middle class was in danger. Watch and tell me if I was wrong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bnd0eSuxu84

Transfer Beach park on a sunny spring day. A still bay is on the left with a sailboat anchored. A leafy green slope bordered by a walking path is on the right. Two large poles reflect the community's logging industry.

Currently hanging out at Transfer Beach in Ladysmith BC, which would be ideal except that I locked my keys in the Jeep and I'm waiting for BCAA to arrive

France passed a law requiring solar panels on every parking lot with more than 80 spaces.

Equals 10 nuclear reactors
Reduces heat island, shades cars

The US -- 800 million parking spaces. Most of them are uncovered asphalt sitting in direct sunlight.

Why aren't we doing this?

The federal government refuses to offer purchase subsidies for e-bikes, the LEAST they could do would be to remove GST from bicycles purchases for the season and encourage people to leave the car at home. #yycbike

"governing on principles and not on polling trends" appears to be today's theme. exactly what we must demand from the people we elect

I have been so disgusted by all of this, and I’m glad some of caucus had the decency to push back.

Very thankful as well for Rob Botterell's excellent CBC Radio interview today on the same topic. Eby needs to start governing on principles and not on polling trends.

I've seen respected columnists using AI to add cartoons to their posts. Please stop- first of all, it's garbage. Secondly, most editorial cartoonists would be happy if you included their work with your posts. Just ask them for permission.

Hell, Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney is center right. I mostly care that they respect the rule of law!

I'm so relieved he conceded! You never know with these effers if they are going to obey the will of the people, or claim the election was "stolen" and incite an insurrection.

I went to a play I really, really wanted to see when my firstborn was a wee babe (It was called Mom's the Word and yes, it was about motherhood so how could I resist?). I brought just myself, baby, a sling and a small diaper bag, sat near the exit and yes, missed a good chunk of the first act.
