A better question would have just asked if it was appropriate without referencing treason. People might think its wrong but that it doesn’t rise to the level of treason.

How do teams “threaten” an offer sheet and drive up salary? Wouldn’t that imply tampering?

I don’t recall hearing about another Stanley Cup Champion chirping the team they just beat as much as the Panthers. Very little class.

Why does the NHL allow this type of BS? Totally bush league.

So worried about taking penalties they didn’t play with any aggression whatsoever.

The slash was pretty ordinary and a spontaneous reaction to a cross check from Hintz. Really dumb comments from DeBoer.

I agree with that but a lot of people seem to be laying blame for the loss solely at Skinner’s feet. If the Oilers think they can play that loose defensively and win against Vegas, they will be very disappointed. There were just too many mistakes by too many players last night, Skinner included.

Just has to stop one more than the other guy.

It will change. I wouldn’t even count out a resurgence of the PPC. Nothing is certain.

Now imagine how that would have gone if Poilievre had been there instead of Carney.

That is a good point.

Why does that matter at all? Shouldn’t the objective be to eliminate elbows/forearms to the head? Hits to the head cause severe damage over time. People will have differing views on the play but in my mind it was clearly one of those accidentally on purpose hits.

100% accurate. The western world’s consumption driven lifestyle would have never been affordable without the wage arbitrage offered by countries such as China.

When combined with Poilievre’s net negative ratings the obvious conclusion is that the Conservatives should move on from Poilievre. But they won’t.

11 months ago 10 0 0 0

The Conservatives lost what was a very winnable election for them primarily because many Canadians have a viscerally negative view of Poilievre. If the Conservatives reach any other conclusion they will lose the next election too.

The question for the conservatives now is whether or not a less polarizing leader can win the next election or should they double down on Poilievre. Both paths are risky for them.

Agreed. My comment was more of a general observation over the season not just about last night.

At the risk of going well beyond any actual knowledge on goaltending it also seems to me that Skinner tends not to have his pads square enough to the shooter as he moves laterally.

11 months ago 0 0 1 0

To my eye, Skinners slow lateral movement and/or slow recognition of the play that is developing make the chances more dangerous than they need to be. Having said that, the defensive coverage has been awful as well.

Goaltending and team defense have been issues for 5+ years with this team. Rolling the dice on a Skinner/Pickard tandem was a huge mistake last summer and at the deadline. Ekholm injury has been devastating.

The Conservative platform promises “…to crack down on "woke ideology" in the public service and federal funding for university research.” We have seen what this means in the US and can’t let it start here. Vote to soundly beat PP.

Fair enough although I vote based on which leader I prefer as PM.

One thing I don’t understand. If Carney is the preferred PM by 47%, why don’t the Nanos Polls ever show the Liberals at 47%?

Proposing referendums on tax increases is lazy policy and an abdication of leadership.

Removing PP from their TV ads is a sensible move by the CPC but replacing him with Harper seems like a really bad idea. Harper was immensely unpopular and remains a very polarizing figure. The ads will just remind people of why they don’t want a conservative government.

The Conservatives might try and elect a leader who doesn’t have a -13 net favourability rating next time.

and good politics as most Canadians support the CBC. Will PP take the bait?
