Paul Nowak calls on Labour to forge closer relationship with Europe In an exclusive interview, the head of the TUC says a customs union with the EU could boost the UK’s economy Keir Starmer should seek out a far closer relationship with Europe, including a possible customs union, the head of the TUC has said. Paul Nowak, TUC general secretary, said the British public recognised the need for a vastly improved trading arrangement and said it had become more urgent than ever because of the fickle nature of the relationship with Donald Trump’s United States. Chris Murphy 🟧 on X: "I need you to listen to and share this story - of how Trump is preparing to abandon Ukraine in exchange for Russian money for his billionaire friends. 👏 Keir Starmer PM: "How Brexit was sold and delivered was wrong. Wild promises were made to the British people and not fulfilled."

"The idea that leaving the EU was the answer to all our cares and concerns has clearly been proved wrong."

Revealed: Brexit costing the UK £250m a day in lost tax revenue The UK is losing £250m a day in lost tax revenue due to the economic impact of Brexit, House of Commons Library analysis commissioned by the Liberal Democrats has revealed.

Let’s be honest about the damage that Brexit has done. There is a £90bn hit to treasury income every year as a result of the Brexit deal.

In the OBR papers, they say disposable income for families is going to go down and that the effects of Brexit outweigh and wipe out any of the benefits of all of the government’s new trade deals combined.

Brexit has been a disaster for our country, it has been a disaster for our economy.- Daisy Cooper, Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats.

It’s time to admit what a disaster Brexit has been.

Liberal Democrats have a plan to fix our trade with Europe to turbocharge the economy, fix the cost of living crisis and properly fund our public services.

The Prime Minister must pick up the phone now to Donald Trump. We have 24 hours to stop Trump’s billion-dollar raid on British licence fee payers.

We’ve written to the PM, calling on him to demand that Trump drop his ludicrous $1 billion lawsuit against the BBC.
