So, does that mean that in theory they could ask because it’s exactly the same process, but probably wouldn’t because it’s not an efficient use of marks or time? Or do you mean they’ve specified that the only time you have find a perpendicular vector is when working out the normal of a plane?

Do they not sometimes ask you to find a perpendicular vector in CP1? Cross product is obviously the sensible method but there are other options. I’m sure I’ve seen at least one such question but it’s possible I’m thinking of old spec qs.

So I’m not at all superstitious but once on Friday 13th, I broke a mirror, and then had to travel on one of those trains. Terrifying.

Is this better than the other country where the leader claims to know everything but really really does not?

I’d suggest microchip feeders, but this greedy guts has figured out how to bypass the system.

True. I think I’d feel the same if I was paying!

Please enjoy this particularly splendid corgi picture I found recently at the royal yacht in Edinburgh. Sadly, I only met the picture, not the actual corgi.

The exception being my Friday afternoon percussion lessons towards the end of Y13. I’d done my grade 8, and I didn’t have much time to practice because of A Levels, so we spent the whole time playing marimba duets and generally having a lot of fun.

Ok, so I’ve just realised I spent (almost) my whole childhood doing lessons wrong. Instead of thinking “here’s a thing I can’t do, so my teacher is going to think I’m rubbish”, I should have been thinking “here’s a thing I can’t do, so my teacher will be able to show me how to do it better.”

Count yourself lucky - I was in my early thirties when I did my back in by simply trying to get out of the car…

Oh dear. I hope it doesn’t take too long to get it all back to normal.

Happy Easter. I hope you all survived Storm Dave successfully. Rough scenes here.

If someone can’t figure out how to ring the bell, is that someone you really want to spend time with? I say this as the person who would probably be too afraid to try the chain and then also forget that knocking is a thing.

First time teaching sixth form boys. They needed rulers.
“I’ve only got a small one”, says one of them.
“Size doesn’t matter”, says another.

Lambing counts as CPD, right?

Sadly I didn’t get to meet this delightful
#corgi in real life at #HMYBritannia yesterday but look how cute (s)he is!

There is a website called Does the Dog Die, which is a lot more thorough than it sounds. Of course it was disturbing, but it’s a horror story, that’s the point. Rather than taking it as criticism, I’d say it’s a sign of well written realism and tension that we all got so upset about it 😂

Having been to Reykjavik a couple of times, I enjoyed trying to work out where everything was and compare with my memories and photos! We went to this spot on our last trip nearly a year ago.

Didn’t all trips to France spend an awfully long time outside a supermarket in Calais on the way home? Teachers need to stock up on their duty free booze somehow. We used to challenge the students with a euro each to buy their own lunch - kept them busy while we shopped.

To be fair, this explains a LOT about a LOT of people.

I appreciate every subject must have its quirks that I’m not aware of, but I don’t think all non-maths teachers get quite how different maths can be. I also think that if something isn’t great for the highest attainment students then that’s actually not great - both ends need good teaching.

Happy birthday to everyone who hasn’t had a proper weekend birthday in more than a decade. Imminent lockdown 2020 and just out of lockdown 2021 definitely didn’t count as relaxing!

(2021 may have been partly my own fault for applying for a job at the opposite end of the country.)

They do also really appreciate the benefits of tourism. We visited shortly after the Brexit vote and most people there were sad about the outcome. They have done a lot in the Algarve to keep things as easy as possible for visiting Brits.

We were there last month, exploring the coast from land and by boat. One of my favourite places in the world.

Oh, surely we have to give him persistance? He’s been grifting for decades without taking the hint that no one sensible is the least bit interested in what he has to say.

20 years ago I went to a slightly more enlightened church who “let women” (🙄) do most things except be the main leaders. I felt more like than equal there than in the CofE who had only just begrudgingly allowed women priests. I’m not sure many churches have fully got the hang of equality yet though.

Leap Year is patently ridiculous and widely panned. It’s also the perfect romcom Starring Amy Adams and Matthew Goode as enemies-to-lovers, this very American portrait of Ireland happens to be charming

#LeapYear is, without a doubt, the best terrible romantic comedy of all time. Either the Guardian is running 16 years late, or it’s just been added to Netflix.
