Ever wonder what's real and what's fluff with all the recent hype about Personalised AI Wine Recommendation engines? Here is a good primer - open.substack.com/pub/transfor...

For most of Napa, 2020’s fires were a disaster. For Harlan, they led to a permanent change in style.

Interesting article and discussion. This work should be of interest to some writers and customer-facing trade. I’d love to see some research testing how words influence actual sales but I can see practical problems finding a merchant willing to work with academia and agreeing to publish the results.

A drawing of The Watcher, a bald man with high collar and cosmic crackles in his mind. The artist is Jack Kirby. Below that is a quote by Kirby which reads “I had a guy die on me once, during the war, and he looked up at me and he said ‘What the hell happened? What happened?’ And here I was, just a schmo from the East Side of New York City, y’know, and how do you answer the guy? I told him, ‘You happened.’ See? And that was real. It got me to think how valuable human beings are; and at that moment I discovered my own humanity. In that moment, I discovered everybody else’s.”
