I’ve lived in Utah my whole life but am not Mormon so finding out all the details as I grew up was absolutely insane, especially when I found out about the polygamy and the Mountain Meadows Massacre (where Mormons pretended to be Native Americans and killed over 120 people traveling through)

That’s so weird to me, cause even as someone has only done pacifist runs in the Dishonored games, the chaos system is not something I see as a criticism, in fact it’s telling the player that the game is reactive and rewards experimentation which I think is nice to include for people not used to that
I’m playing Trails in the Sky SC and it and FC have been hitting me the same way the Xenoblades and Xenogears do, where I love being in this world and enjoy every second of playing, even when I’m grinding. And talking to every npc after each story beat is really engaging despite the time it takes

Was really worried it would just be okay (I normally don’t watch anime adaptations but I really want to see the Rakugo performances in motion and with voices), but they did a good job with that first ep, very excited to see the rest of the eps
Being able to more fully feel and process my emotions due to being on HRT means I’ve had to confront my self loathing and the ways and reasons it manifests and that’s been hard work but it’s also been so nice to realize that I’ve actually gotten better at internalizing that I deserve love and joy
That one gets wild, they give Kiryu’s boss a super tragic backstory in it
I think the game’s art direction works well cleaned up but it was so clearly made for a crt screen and the atmosphere comes through so strongly on one

I beat Trails FC and I really enjoyed the whole game, but holy shit that ending was absolutely amazing, a really great payoff to how much they focused on and developed Estelle, Joshua, and their relationship

Ideon: Be Invoked is a brutal and beautiful ending to a story about how one of the roots of conflict is misunderstanding and an exploration of what it means to believe in something beyond us and coming to understand and accept its intentions, even when it runs counter to what you believe
I’ve restarted it now that I’ve played the first 2 Xenoblades, Xenogears, and all 3 Xenosagas and it’s crazy how it builds on all of them to create something really special
The 25th Ward is probably more well known than other games being talked about but it’s definitely underplayed. It takes the structure and themes of The Silver Case and ramps up how surreal and brutal it got to explore the pressure cooker that is modern society

It really was, she’s the heart of that series, even more than Cooper can be, and she deserved to get time in the spotlight directly, even if at the time people saw it as filler misery porn (which is unsurprising but still feels insane to me)
