It is extremely early, but it sure looks like the Tigers drafted some future big league arms last year. tigersmlreport.com/2026/04/10/d...

And for the record, I think it’s awesome Skubal won and hope it raises future salaries for every other player in arbitration. Just feel like the owners are now gonna push for a reformed arb system OR a salary cap, and players may have to pick one or the other.
At first I thought the Skubal ask was way too high, based on precedent, but I came around to thinking he was likely to win. And I actually think for the owners this was a bit of a win-win scenario. If Skubal lost, good for them. If he won? Now Arb becomes a huge issue/bargaining chip for the CBA.
There’s a ~99% chance the $19.8 million number came directly from MLB’s labor relations department. The Tigers could’ve increased it, but I’m guessing they wanted to keep a unified front with other front offices heading into CBA negotiations. Also, the Valdez signing came after the arb hearing.

have said it before and will say it again Sherrone Moore reminds me of Brady Hoke ... I like Brady. But. Yeah.
I’m afraid Sherrone Moore ain’t it.
I don’t understand anything
The Tigers minor-league system has gotten much better over the past few years. But their pitcher development leaves a lot to be desired. We dig into their issues.

🤔
Interesting question. Could be the randomness of small samples. Or maybe Rogers is relying too much on sequencing that worked last year. Will have to dig in deeper to get an idea of pitch usage and such.
