Crawford has not chased at a huge rate and he has driven the ball on a line. There is a lot of ugly still. He is doing more than surviving and surviving was all that was asked of him.

The #Phillies with runners in scoring position, the last 4 games:

0-3
0-4
0-2
0-6

Since 2002, the only other times that they had 4 consecutive 0-fers with RISP:

Aug. 14-18, 2013
Sep. 15-19, 2015
Sep. 25-28, 2025

So yes -- twice in the last 25 regular season games.

The #Phillies limp out of town after losing 7 of 9 on the homestand.

It's only the 3rd time in the last 25 years that they've lost 7+ games in a homestand of 9 games or less:

The other 2:

❌ June 13-21, 2006 (lost 7 of 9)

❌ June 12-21, 2009 (lost 8 of 9)

Kyle Schwarber’s HR is his 47th from the 2nd spot as a Phil.

He passes Trea Turner for the 4th most #Phillies HRs from that spot. If he stays there he'll likely pass Rhys Hoskins for the franchise all-time lead this year.

Felix Reyes is the 150th #Phillie to homer at Citizens Bank Park.

(including Joe Blanton, who only homered in the postseason)

Times in the last 50 years that 3+ #Phillies made MLB debuts by game 20:

✅ 1980 (3)

George Vukovich, Scott Munninghoff, Luis Aguayo

✅ 2020 (4)

Ramon Rosso, Spencer Howard, Alec Bohm, Connor Brogdon

✅ 2026 (3)

Justin Crawford, Andrew Painter, Felix Reyes

The Exciting Paradox of Felix Reyes If you were to list the two most important skills for a hitter to have it might start with raw power and contact in the strike zone. Felix Reyes hits the ball very hard. This year he has a max exit velocity of 115.0 mph and a 90th percentile exit velocity of 105.4 mph. Given that power, it is extremely impressive he has a zone contact rate of 84.4% this year, which is actually low for him historically.

The Exciting Paradox of Felix Reyes

Reyes has been one of my favorite under the radar prospects in the org for half a decade and I am excited for him. However, he is a player of extremes and you are betting on one of those showing up more than the others.

I don’t think so. It’s a long season, and I expect they’ll make the playoffs (maybe even make a nice run).

I would still bet on them making it in.

As you hear about the Padres - the team in baseball's 12th smallest market - being sold for $3,900,000,000, remember that before New Year's Day MLB Owners will at least threaten to kill the 2027 season because Imbalance because Disparity because Owners Don't Make Enough🤦🏼‍♂️

The Braves are in town — the team the #Phillies have faced the most:

2,557 regular season games
797 series

Including the 3 times they've squared off in the postseason, it's been a total of exactly 800 series.

The Phils are going for their 300th series win:

Looking back, 15-11 had happened 5 times previously. Weirdly enough it happened again the following week in a loss to the Mets.

5 days ago 1 0 0 0

(the day after blowing out the Reds, the Phils began their 257-game sellout streak)

Among the scores that have never occurred in a Phillies game and which are most likely (least unlikely):

17-9, 17-11, 17-14

18-12, 18-15, 18-17

19-0, 19-13, 19-14, 19-18

Random off-day stat:

In the last 40 years, there have only been 4 games that ended in #Phillies Scorigami -- a score never before seen in their history:

7/6/09 vs. CIN: won 22-1
8/16/18 vs. NYM: lost 24-4
8/23/19 @ MIA: lost 19-11
7/1/23 vs. WSN: won 19-4

The #Phillies had gone 128 games without a leadoff HR, their longest drought in 8 years.

They had also hit 176 HRs since that last one, and they've only hit that many between leadoff HRs 12 other times in their long history.

Anticlimactic now, but Trea’s HR in the first is the 900th in history by a #Phillies shortstop.

Not surprisingly it’s the fewest of the 8 field positions.

Trea Turner’s HR is the 900th in #Phillies history by a shortstop.

(including 6 in the postseason)

Details coming later.

The #Phillies have been having some extensive scoring droughts, interrupted by a few big innings.

I was able to put together innings data going back 10 years to see how rare those droughts have been for them:

With his 2 HRs last night, Kyle Schwarber has now hit 126 as a DH in the NL.

He moves ahead of Marcel Ozuna for most ever by a NL DH:

1) Schwarber 126
2) Ozuna 125 (0 in 2026)
3) Ohtani 114

(Schwarber also hit 76 as a Phils LF)

The #Phillies last won a series in San Francisco in 2013.

Since then:

❌ 12 series played

❌ 11 series lost, 1 split

That’s now their longest road series winless streak against any opponent in over 75 years.

Aside from trying to avoid their 12th straight winless series in San Francisco (their longest road series winless streak in 75+ years)…

The #Phillies are also going for their 400th road win against the Giants.

The 721 road losses are the most any opponent has handed the Phillies:

The #Phillies haven't won a series in SF since 2013.

Since then: 10 series losses, and 1 split (a 4-gamer in 2017).

If they win either today or tomorrow they will avoid having their longest road series winless streak against any opponent in over 75 years.

The #Phillies' winning streak vs. the Rockies is now up to 9 straight, dating back to May of last year.

It's the 8th time in the last 30 years that they've won 9+ straight against an opponent.
