Ya, a lot going on at youtube and instagram. But mostly because those platforms are ubiquitous, to say the least. I was hoping Bsky would provide a niche (which it did)... But it's clear people have abandoned the platform, outside of just talking politics all day. Which isn't this account's goals.
Welp, I guess it's not surprising but this platform isn't valid for... Things like MTBing. It's probly not even successful in general, given the decline in new users. People treated it like a fad and that's what it became. Thanks to everyone who joined me for a lil bit :) It was fun. ✌️👋

Norco releases new Revolver. Looking like an outright 10/10 on paper, visually as well. Will be interesting to see reviews roll in but a lightweight, fun, peppy downcountry bike is a pretty safe bet. Nailing the frame paint and the build spec values is a start. #mountainbiking #MTB
Interesting. Would love to try both. I know compliance is becoming a thing again since brands don't know where/how to innovate. I'd imagine, at least personally, I'd prefer the carbon for the build/features EVEN though I like a responsive (poppy) bike. Even if just for the chip alone. Canyons slack.

ye mate ive done that but im not seeing where its said better in any way to the carbon outside of the reviewer preferred the part spec, but thats tough cuz its a) just a preference and b) the same shock as the CF7? lol (like is the tune even different?)... and i can appreciate less 'features', but.🤷♂️
Okay, I found something I actually liked from Bike Mag. It's hard to describe the biking culture as a teetotaler. All I know is I've almost cancelled my mailing list from SkyPark because they've been advertising their new alcohol bar nearly daily... 🙄 #mountainbiking #MTB
Sorry no industry posts lately. Been a mixture of many posts I don't care about and almost nothing that really moves the needle for me. Giant released some new bikes, they are at least better values than the new Treks. I am okay with boring, I guess, but hopefully not expensive boring lol #MTB

Ya, almost none of the resources are perfect... Particularly 99spokes. But Vital should have a decent handle on what 650bz are still around. Can also track the year the industry abandoned them. Between 2022 and 2023! lol ignore all the mislabeled mullets...
But yeah lastly, if you find a mullet with a fairly high bottom bracket, such as YT Capra... You can honestly just de-mullet it stock in high BB mode. And if you want to 'fix' the geometry you can buy a spacer from MRP or Reverse, or try to over fork it (though not sure about 180/190 29er fork)
I do have a list of active dual 27 bikes if you want a full overview of what the industry still has. Obviously Commencal Clash is still valid, but wouldn't be my first pick of bike. I'd be more open to a Propain Spindrift for long travel. I wish the Pivot Shadowcat was cheaper. Good smaller option.
I'm the wrong person to ask I bought a mid travel MX and de-mulleted it into a dual 27! That said, I love it because in high BB mode, it can safely run dual 27, and then I just switch it back to MX for faster/chunkier riding. Best of both worlds! All these 29er to MX bikes are silly, similar feel.
Sure, Orbea may have released the best #MTB of all time this year... But this bike is less than half the price of that Rallon right now. Insane value, 2500 for a Specialized Status 170. Lotta new bikes being released, including the cool Fuel line up concept from Trek... But they all fall short lol 🤔
Grabbed these rad pads on sale. Over 50% off. I will say as a former BMXer who hates pads, the fit and feel of the higher quality stuff is insane. I'm only learning this lifestyle now with the crazy post-covid sales. These feel like the best compromise between comfortable and protective. #MTB

one of Henry's last Pinkbike productions was there last field test which saw multiple bikes perform 'poorly' due to component performance or just outright spec. one has to imagine this was the catalyst for this new idea. and its def more elegant than slagging off a bike because the shock is soft...

Less than a year into being a 'SRAM customer'. My G2s failed mid-ride, causing a crash. Thought they may have just had an issue needing a bleed, but shop confirmed part failure and warrantied them. DB6s I replaced them with have sticky pistons out the box... Same as the DB8s on my GFs bike 😂 #MTB
