For school visits, I like to give kids the space to write their own stories using my book HOW TO PEE YOUR PANTS: THE RIGHT WAY like a madlib. Seriously, they never disappoint. Please enjoy HOW TO ESCAPE A T-REX by Edith Bowen El. The last line is too good!
(I had to speed it up a bit to post it 😆)

For some reason, Brick & Mortar Books let me come in and scribble all over their books.
If you want a scribble (a little doodle + a signature), you know where to go ;)

And why not try @adamrex.bsky.social's TUMBLEBABY (ill. by Audrey H. W.)? I finally got to read this one and it did not disappoint. I love how the trickster story is flipped upside down, the surprising twists and turns, the details (like tumblebaby w/ stickers 😂). Definitely get it!

Because our original Bluesky profile links are likely to change early next year when the platform moves to federation, I've changed my user handle to a custom domain so my Bluesky profile link will remain consistent, no matter what server.
I wrote about how I did this, in case it helps anyone.

You know what happens to kids who grow up with unfettered access to books?
They read.
They think critically.
And when they have questions or feel uncomfortable, they turn to trusted adults in their lives & have essential conversations that help them grow.
Be that adult instead of banning books.

INKTOBER prompt: DREAM 💭
>> As a lantern, it’s easy to feel behind when other lanterns around you can shine bright and beautifully on their own, but you can’t. <<
This year, I made up a little story based on Inktober’s official prompt list. Let’s see how this story goes!

Introduce yourself with some jobs you have done apart from what you do now:
🍪 Cookie girl (in a sandwich shop and in life)
🥩Food runner (at Texas Roadhouse...yes I had to do the dances and it made my shoulders lopsided)
🤖 UX writer (or marketing writer, or technical writer, or copy writer, or...)
