UK company law is not enforced. The cost of not doing so is enormous. youtu.be/YFOrIemNthg?... Why doesn't the UK government care about the fact that UK company law is not enforced? What is the point of having law that they will not impose, at considerable cost to society?

LinkedIn post, by myself:

"One day, I'm going to place a long, very considered post on here about AI, LLMs, and how: 1) they are theft; 2) their abilities are vastly overrated on the qualitative front): 3) they have no place in a university classroom, aside from showing students why they are poor substitutes for what the human mind can achieve; and 4) there is still a market out there for (academic) research that relies on more traditional methods, and we need to nurture these through the period when this particular fad dies down. And believe you me, the bubble will burst.

I will stake my academic career and reputation on all four of these points. University academics and their leaderships need to stop confusing what is good with what is fashionable -- not to mention what is morally, environmentally and economically indefensible.

I am reasonably sure that the LinkedIn algorithm won't take this very far into folks' "suggested for you" tabs, but at least I'll have my followers' attention!"

Pinning my colours to the mast on LinkedIn. They say you shouldn't always let employers know that there are certain things you wouldn't do, but I believe in this case it's best to be honest up front.

Any tips/ recomendations for (non-Celtic/ Rangers) Scots fanzines (from back in 1980s/1990s) that discuss Scottish politics? I'm starting with The Absolute Game, so anything like that from clubs would be appreciated. #Scottish #football

Labour meeting the billionaire who is funding far right disinformation. What next? Courting Farage for leader to get that elusive Reform vote?

This is what the UK government must do to stop Musk undermining our democracy. An excellent piece & list of actions by @petergeoghegan.bsky.social:

Small boat crossings account for less than 4% of total migration to the UK (37k out of 1.2m arrivals in 2023). Yet, they dominate headlines. Why? Refrom party hyperbole feeds fear, not facts. Let’s focus on the bigger picture. #bbcqt

Before we had the chance to set up our own page on here, some troll set up a fake one.

The genuine Bluesky page is confirmed on our other socials.

I’ll post a video on route to London for the Football Content Awards tomorrow.

The diplomat - good fun. Rufus Sewell good craic too

Fleishman Is in Trouble - brilliant. Episode seven is a gut punch though…
