I think this is the exact reason the industry feels so fucked. The algorithm-driven models for both streamers and social media might sound like good business, but siphoning customers off into increasingly specific pigeon holes means audiences don't get exposed to unexpected things they might like.

🫵🏼 Stop!!
You don’t think that joke a trans woman made is funny, but you don’t have to quote post the joke talking about how much you don’t like it. You can literally just do anything else and be nice
it's one thing to aggro onto unapologetic bigots and assholes and I'll join in but for fuck sake if by the skin of their teeth someone might be managing to get through to somebody even against their will to learn and grow and you come along like "your breath is made of poopy breath" it'll ruin it
I'm the same kind of insane so I have a radar for it
Generally speaking, yeah, and I agree with what you’re referring to
but then yesterday the thing about not being in perfect pitch being an affront to the work itself,
I have watched you get repeatedly consumed by what looks like, from the surface, feelings of inadequacy that don’t really reflect your actual skill level. You’ve written rules for yourself that sound like they’re weapons designed to beat yourself with
No
I think I’ve seen you restrict yourself from making something on the basis that you never think you’re skilled enough yet on multiple occasions. It’s not that high skill work is bad or unwanted, rather
Extreme perfectionism is the enemy of ever doing anything at all
A film by Mia Moore Executive Producer Lilly Wachowski
holy shit
Yeah, but they’re not worth it at allll
Not if it isn’t in every single post
My current place has one and it is amazing 😭
I thought someone died but no I just forgor
Oh, this is over a separate thing that didn’t even actually happen, but they want me to pay a $100 fee to correct the mistake
What’s worse is that the ways round it (here, may not work for you) are trivial if you’re rich but incredibly punitive if you’re poor or have unstable employment…
…which would both be the outcome of someone driving into you and the injuries impacting your work.
Precisely 🫠
I really wish there was a timer that you could set on mutes bc sometimes I just don't want to see a mutual talking about something that pains me all night and forget to unmute them for like 2 months
and since you can have your license taken away for not having insurance, that's pretty fucked up!!!
I already basically had plans to kill myself this year for many, many other reasons, but look at this situation and tell me it isn't just another reason life is hopeless in every single possible fucking way
I need you to understand that you are not exempt from or safe from this if you live in the US. You could get hit by someone who is on their phone while driving *tomorrow* and find yourself in a position where you cannot get car insurance on the next vehicle you buy, or can't get enough coverage
if it's illegal not to have something, it shouldn't be legal to refuse to let someone have it, but I also have a special resentment in my heart for the idea of forcing anyone to have to go through such an ordeal over SOMEONE ELSE'S irresponsible car ownership, general idiocy, etc.
If you’re in a position to help financially, please do; if not, please share. Matthew has been a tremendous source of support, encouragement, and help in my life for years, and they are in a position where they need help now.
In addition to their excellent work in healthcare and disability advocacy, Matthew once helped me get out of a bad rental situation, just because I was a person on the internet who needed some help. I am forever grateful.
If you have the ability, please consider sending some money their way!
you can basically be forced into having no other choice but to commit a crime to get to and from work every day to avoid losing your job and everything even getting worse by someone else driving into you and injuring you
- it's illegal here not to have car insurance
- it is, however, legal for every car insurance company in the country to refuse to sell you a policy because you were recently in an accident where you were determined to be literally not at fault at all
- what, pray tell, the fuck
I just don't think the state of Texas should be able to ruin someone's life over $100 but what do I know
I can't tell if they finally fixed an issue with desktop bluesky or just broke the thing that was causing the problem
The internet is too social for me today. Had to go home early from work cuz of a fatty liver flareup. Thats 65 missing from my paycheck now i depend on for rent. Any sales are appreciated right now. ovaettr.gay #SupportArtists
The blog post linked in the quoted post explains it all better, but
- I unfortunately can't drive my car for an absurd number of reasons
- I still don't have air conditioning in even one room in my house and it's so hot in here that my phone, computer, and art tablet all won't work during the day
