I’m telling you @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social, please watch this. This is the energy. Not egg prices and book tours and strongly worded letters. It’s time to take the gloves off.
Four out of 10 Americans have shifted their spending over the last few months to align with their moral views.

“You can build all the dick rockets you want to go to Mars while you try to leave the rest of us on the burning Earth. We’re gonna take control. This is our world, and it’s our government, and it’s our money.”

I did this. It takes about 20 seconds. Why the hell not?
1/ For the people who are asking: “Where are the protests?!” There have been many! Much of them organized by immigrants rights groups and leftists. Here’s a thread of some I have found, or know people who have attended. Feel free to add your own.
Louder for the Democratic sycophants in the back.
What's infuriating about healthcare in the US, other than everything, is that we've actually never had a "healthcare debate." We had a prolonged health INSURANCE debate - i.e. paying for care - but never a conversation about what care ought to be.
Why didn't they just put the photos inside a glass case that only the manager can open
You must not live in NH - he’s here all the time 🙄
We must refuse to obey unjust laws invented by authoritarians to oppress people and further their aims of having some "other" to shame and blame.
Leadership, as we see here, requires going first to show the way:

It really is quite touching.
I haven’t seen something bring people together like the UnitedHealth CEO assassination since the release of Pokémon Go.
The first politician to run on the platform of "fuck those weirdos, let's build some cool shit we've always wanted and ignore them forever" is going to win 600 electoral votes
Results among Harris voters in national survey showing 66% are "more concerned Dems will not do enough to stand up to Trump" 13% "more concerned Dems will go too far" 21% "neither concern me"
Dem voters fear Dem leaders will not stand up to Trump. More from our post election findings.
I hope everyone in the C suites at the big health insurance companies is feeling uneasy right now.
every day I understand a little more why Arya Stark kept that list
I will never, ever get over this.
Bluesky is truly having an incredible run as Threads' head of product
In 2018 Dems elected the largest class to Congress since Watergate, ~60 seats.
A lot of it was, yes, Trump backlash. But the winners also had another thing in common, despite a wide range of differences: most rejected corporate PAC money.
It’s a hugely compelling factor to voters & underdiscussed
And it’s the same people from 2016-2020 who are moving the same way. Except now we know that they have no positive effect on politics. None.
So I suppose I was hoping we would try something different. Maybe try being earnest? Try actually helping people who will be targeted by this admin?
Well, now I know we made the right decisions
We must show visible refusal to comply because the absence of it implies consent. Most folks are reading social cues to understand what is & isn't acceptable & drawing their conclusions from what "common sense" dictates.

The real trap here is that the Republicans have made defending civil rights seem like a frivolous thing and a whole lot of liberals are falling in line. Even if it was a culture war, so what? This would be a war worth fighting. What are we even doing here, people? Get it together.
Pundits will always peddle precisely the same "wisdom" and pretend they've reached that conclusion afresh. And that "wisdom" will always be how dare people with little to nothing demand anything.
How many think pieces imagining the Harris campaign as being too woke does it take to distract from the campaign that won being too racist?
I don’t trust politicians already making pronouncements about the way forward that promotes their own political agenda or aspirations, or distances them/us from vulnerable communities that need our support. Look for the elected officials who are taking a pause to listen/learn.
Blocking Nazis, trolls, and fascists doesn’t make it an “echo chamber.” People need to stop gaslighting us into thinking we have to listen to Nazis and debate trolls in order to be informed.
