i think the norm is that elected officials should be treated extremely deferentially in these situations and police/agents should be afraid to put their hands on them, and that is clearly not the case

I’ve never understood the protests as a way to influence Trump. I believe they’re important because they’re a way to tell each other that we’re not okay with this. They’re a way to communicate with other Americans and hopefully suppress further normalization of Trumpism in everyday life.

The Democrats walked out, who cares? A smarter Democratic group would have countered every accusation against Biden with one against Trump, every instance of frailty matched, until the Republicans give up. They win 99% of the time bc Democrats won’t play to win, always play to lose.
