If you seriously believe that we must resort to violence, making friends with pacifists and electoralists is more strategic than scolding them on the internet. Friendliness gives you a legitimacy advantage. Scolding and posturing paints a target on your back.

Imagine 2 scenarios:

A. There’s big turn out votimg against trump’s team, and he has to use extraordinary means to ignore or undermine it.

B. Everyone gives up on voting, adopts militant posturing, and maga wins.

In which scenario will trump have a harder time imposing police state rule?

Too much of the internet frames this as a binary choice we need to make right now.

Instead of telling people to “face it” why not let them try to delegitimize the dictatorship by defending elections while you prepare for more direct community self defense?

Rodriguez is going negative while on shaky ground. That’s a sign of bad political instincts and a bad team. She is unready for what the Republicans are going to throw at any dem.

We are better off with a socialist who has clear responses to attacks than corporate elite who waffles and panders.

Fran Hong is whooping Rodriguez for few reasons.

1. More inspiring. Turns out volunteers.
2. Works harder. Sara does minimum while Fran hustles.
3. “Tax the fucking billionaires” vs enable and enrich the fucking billionaires.

Sara Rodriguez also talks about her experience in healthcare a lot. She was a healthcare executive at Aurora while healthcare executives at aurora were fucking people over and making life less affordable.

Her background is a liability in the general, not an asset.

She talks a lot about visiting every county. That’s a bare minimum requirement of a LT gov. We PAID her to do that. It would be negligent for her to NOT do it.

Meanwhile, Fran Hong travelled the state during her first term in the assembly because she recognized it was needed to achieve goals.

Rodriguez’s sole accomplishment is winning in Waukesha, but that’s not about her, it’s about Waukesha. Population shifts and the GOP base moving up north. Other are accomplishing that routinely now.

Sara Rodriguez is NOT electable. She is losing, and she is deploying a loser strategy.

What wins over independents and conservatives more:

1. economic populism, promises to tax the elites, and make life affordable, or…

2. inauthentic pandering to both sides while serving the elites?

It’s 1.

Citizen action asked governor candidates a good question, and first two just gave a mini stump speech.

Were they right about campaign strategies like skipping Wisconsin (Clinton) and “I would do nothing different from Biden” (Harris)?

Cuz those shit-brick-dumb moves gave the country to trump.

Everyone, conservative, liberal, tax payer, teacher, parent, student, we all agree that administrative bloat is a problem, but, that doesn’t seem to matter, because administrators make the decisions, and they make them based on easy metrics, rather than actual needs.

A handful of elite insiders organized hard to limit the choices presented to those angry voters.

We have a dumb, obsolete election system which gives voters less power than elite political party leaders.

Blaming the people with less power is irrational. Let’s Blame Biden/Harris and their team?

I think there’s civic value in running and failing. My congress rep has been in office unchallenged waaaay to long. If reckless 22 year olds ran and lost against her regularly, it may have stopped her getting as out of touch as she has, or encouraged her to retire. Or they’d try again and win at 30.

I’d also be okay with 29 or even 22 year olds being allowed to run for senator. I don’t think any of them would win, and I likely wouldn’t want them to, but I’d rather they lose by no one taking them seriously than by them not being allowed to try.

I am proposing that OP direct her frustrations at the people responsible for failing to beat trump: corporate centrists, rather than thinking the solution comes from increasing government restrictions on participation in democratic processes.

It’s beat Harris, save the world. Literally.

Harris, and Schumer, and Jeffries, and every other corporate backed, genocide denying, status quo ghoul.

Plus the dems who get elected instead of them will deliver universal healthcare and a billionaire tax, ushering in decades of prosperity that gives the party FDR levels of popularity for decades.

We could MAYBE navigate the climate crisis on that mandate and momentum.

If we simply hold the Clinton/Biden/Harris wing of our party accountable by refusing to give them power, and primarying their ilk in state and local elections, democracy will be restored.

The same woulda happened to trump if center dems had focused on beating him, instead of legitimizing him so they could run as lesser evil against him and retain control of the Democratic Party while moving away from that party’s base values and core constituencies.

If David duke had been prevented from running for president by a law that says someone like him cannot run for president, it would have legitimized his martyr antihero bullshit. Instead, he was allowed to run for president, defeated and humiliated, making him pathetic and fringe.

Limiting access to democratic processes is a bad idea.

Trump would be as fringe as pat buchannon if Hilary hadn’t leveraged superdelegates to beat sanders in 2016.
