Within a month (might’ve been a week) of a nursing home for my mother, she had forgotten Iowa City, her home of 40 years. The adjustment for her was pretty traumatic. But she ended up not remembering and would have, regardless of how it went, and I wish we could’ve gotten her there sooner.
