in the plainest terms i can think of rn：paraphilias aren't the cause of (institutional) violence. it's power. it's enacting power over vulnerable beings through (sexual) abuse. violence ≠ love.

the rage is misdirected af AND hiding the real harm. fiction ≠ real life. depiction ≠ endorsement.

(i.e. does an abuser educate their victim on recognizing that what they're doing is abuse? N O ! ABSOLUTELY N O T ! if there's nth else to safely experience (LIKE W/ FICTION) there's no way to know!)

(also this rant isn't "iN dEfEnSe Of peD0s". don't miss the point that hard. i'm being so serious)

does pointing at＆censoring depictions of abuse in literature take children who are being abused out of abusing hands? or is it more likely to keep them from recognizing abuse as abuse bc their only point of reference would be coming FROM their abuser in the context of being abused?

if we can chew on this, take it a step further: does virtue signalling abt pedophiles in a climate where we can wrap our heads around the fact that our sex offenders-in-chief implement mass censorship to sanction their abuse track when they don't have to be pedophiles to sexually abuse children?

here's a hint: the venn diagram between pedophiles ＆ppl who sexually abuse children isn't a circle. it's not even close. it BARELY overlaps bc the sheer number of rapists (bc having sex with ppl who can't consent is rape) vastly outnumbers pedophiles. rape isn't abt sexual attraction but abt power

not even getting into whether or not it's even beneficial if they DO mean real ppl but is the world ever gonna be ready for the paraphile conversation
