my opinion on AI at this point is 'if it makes more work for me, I fucking hate it'
google results are fucked: more work for me
news sites posting ai generated content without fact checking: more work for me
code that isn't scaleable: more work for me

Hayden taught some really great tunes this month. Islay Rant, The First Pint, and Farewell to Santa Ana are now up on contratunes.org/tune-archive...
Lol, this was the next post in my feed: bsky.app/profile/rose...
Some great tunes this session! It'll take me quite a while to be able to play them *and* do the feet at the same time, I think :)
Here's a sneak preview from Devon for one of the tunes he'll likely teach tomorrow! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9g7...
If you're in the Seattle area and interested in learning a tune like this, and the feet, check out contratunes.org for more info!

A coot palling around with some ducks.
Crazy as a coot
Usually means crazy.
They seem sane to me.
Sign stapled to a telephone pole warning, "Beware false spring. Although conditions seem to have improved, they will worsen again. But then they may improve once more." With additional notations around a diagram of the water cycle: "Weather the storm", "this is not permanent", "it will happen again", "do what you need". "What you take with you" labels evaporation, and groundwater is "What you leave behind". Text at the bottom of the page reads: "The raindrop becomes the ocean the seasons cannot be divided we are also all inseparable the grim grind of this long winter cannot forever wall one of us from any other we will run down the hills and join in the ocean all together at the end of one journey and the beginning of another"
Overseen.
Today I found myself drinking cider at happy hour prices when the bookstore I was working in unexpectedly (to me) became a hurdy-gurdy / maritime tune concert venue. I feel like I must be doing something right 😂
Again, Alex sums things up perfectly with a song.

I haven't seen too many pipers playing for contra dances...
It is a specific dance form, but the music borrows from a lot of different traditions! Most of the dances expect a 32 bar tune (usually AABB), so anything dancey that fits, really, which I think is fun.
We had another great contra tune learning session last Sunday! The tunes we learned are posted here if you want to follow along: contratunes.org/tunes-by-ses...
My band, Countercurrent, has a brand new record up for pre-order! You can find it at www.countercurrentmusic.bandcamp.com/album/flow
a little clip from a jam session the other day. perpetually in love with weird little 16-bar bagpipe reels
Y’all.
My local Democratic committee asked locals to call their Senators about Vought *last Tuesday*.
And we did.
And Senate Democrats responded by boycotting the vote to move him out of committee.
“Dems aren’t doing anything” is an attack meant to split the Democratic coalition.
Please boost.
Maybe you are going to Supersonic and want to get some music in your contra-filled weekend? Join us afterwards on Sun 2/9 to learn some tunes taught by Sarah! contratunes.org
This is going to be so awesome. I can't wait!
Homemade lemon curd about to go into the fridge
And some lemon curd to go with it because yum 😋
Jar of freshly made low fat Greek yogurt
Well that was actually super easy. Thanks little yogurt guys!
