I have said this before but sadly it bears frequent repeating: the existence of trans people benefits us all, benefits society as a whole, is a beautiful thing, and must be protected at all costs. Trans rights are vital and uncompromisable human rights and would be even if this weren’t the case.

I would love to be pro-AI but it's like... idk like that bit in Nausicaa where the big lava robot guys get released too early and are just super fucked up, they're doing what they're supposed to do but god they're broken and breaking more as they go.

Would be a half a year before I would get on the Mean Machines train as an 11 year old (with Issue #17 because it had NFL Quarterback John Elway on the cover), but jeez that turn-of-the-decade really was a golden age of gaming. Visits to friends houses were always a new discovery of gaming greats

As someone else pointed out, going to be interesting to see him seethe at the 'fake media' when an aircraft carrier has 70% of the crew stricken down with flu

Hey, Gen X, let's annoy everyone and bring back "choice" as a term of approval.

"It's gonna be CHOICE."

Oh, what?! You mean to say that Michael Jackson's estate didn't want ANY of the negative sides of his life covered in the new Hollywood 'blockbuster' on his life and as a result the swarm of reviews claim it's boring and a missed opportunity?

I am shocked, SHOCKED!

A terrific dive into the famed 'EVO Moment #37' (which still pings the old emotions when it gets a rewatch - that crowd lift is something else)

VERY interested to try and find out why a bio-weapon monster storyline was the go ahead to finish off the 'trilogy' when the other two (terrific) movies were political/crime thrillers. It's even weirder considering that WXIII takes place between the two preceding films.

Only taken me 24 years...but finally got around to watching WXIII: Patlabor the Movie 3 this evening. I mean it's OK. I think its biggest 'crime' is that it tries to emulate Patlabor 2's style with (I would guess) far less of a budget and a script that doesn't quite connect the dots enough.

Great to see Dispatch pulling in Baftas from differing categories and avenues this evening. I haven't even played it myself...just watched about 50 different people play through it.

If nothing else, she's unfortunately set herself up to get asked about every 35-60+ female role that goes to an AI 'actor' instead of a human actor, from now until she leaves the industry, and probably beyond.

The fact that "being taxed on a wealth that would take most people dozens of generations to gather" is "the scariest thing she's ever seen" means the world isn't scaring millionaires and billionaires nearly enough yet.

Jeeeez so that's Soderburgh and now Doug Liman that fall into the AI-embracing-piece-of-shit director camp?! Dammit Doug, I've been a fan of your stuff for decades now and that'll have to be a hand-washing from me I'm afraid.

It's the classic Mel Gibson and Jesus meme where Mel is on set in normal clothes casually chatting to a very bloody Jesus (for those of you who don't know it).

If you have a pasta recipe that calls for a single tin of anchovies to be used, I am the living salty proof that under no circumstance do you add a second tin simply because it'll be running out of date soon.

Around 90% of UK North Sea oil and gas ‘already drained dry’… New drilling could amount to just 1–2% of total extracted since commercial operations began and through to 2050.

For those interested some of the figures on the North Sea situation have been postulated upon and collated here eciu.net/media/press-...
