yeah this is the thing that worries me, if degradations to Opus model speed can fuck up one of my work days, and I don't have good local fallback, it means we're all at the whim of something pretty temperamental until the kinks get straightened out and it's a utility like electricity or GWS

When it was slow to write code, it was slow to accumulate technical debt. What is it about LLMs that won't result in accumulating technical debt even faster than before?

There is a Debian git transition plan. It’s going OK so far but we need help, especially with outreach and updating Debian’s documentation.

Goals of the Debian git transition project
Achievements so far, and current status
Core engineering principle
Correspondence between dsc and git
Patches-applied vs patches-unapplied
Consequences, some of which are annoying
Distributing the source code as git
Tracking the relevant git data, when changes are made in the legacy Archive
Why *.dgit.debian.org is not Salsa
Roadmap
In progress
Future Technology
Mindshare and adoption - please help!
A rant about publishing the source code
Documentation
Personnel
Thanks

TIL this workflow to test a github pull request:

$ git fetch origin pull/24/head:pr-24
$ git checkout -b testbranch
$ git merge pr-24

replace 24 with your PR

Reliability is sort of like a stomachache. It’s hard for people to really appreciate not having issues until you have issues.
