My number one priority is building the SkyTrain out to UBC—connecting Western Canada’s largest research centre with Western Canada’s largest employment centre, building a new innovation corridor, and amalgamating Vancouver and UBC into one municipality.

Welcome to the team, Mark! You were instrumental in the Park Board’s successful launch of our revitalized food and beverage service—but there’s more work ahead. Looking forward to working alongside you to finish what we started.
Welcome to the team @mark4parks.bsky.social. Together We Can.
The Vancouver Liberals are proud to announce that @mark4parks.bsky.social one of the most transformational leaders in our park system, is our latest candidate for Park Board. Welcome to the team, Mark!

Facebook ad with the caption: “Vancouver’s left-wing parties have struck a back-room deal to limit competition…”. The image is a grid of 5 politicians- me, Pete Fry, Kareem Allam, William Azaroff, and Rebecca Bligh- in a dramatic dark sepia tone. It features the words “We cannot afford to go back” and “Chaos coalition”.
On April 1st ABC councillors unanimously signed on to the Elect Respect campaign. On Sunday they started running this ad. It’s almost comical at this point.
We’re setting a new standard for how we move Vancouver forward... and Together We Can!

The Van Liberals plan for our community centres, pools, and parks is $1.35 billion. It’s based on what is needed, given the profound lack of investment over the years. Ken Sim is proposing a $1 billion cut from what’s required and $150 million less than the last capital budget. Unacceptable!

“It is you today that have carried us, uplifted us, and have shown the best of us.”

Great to be on Early Edition this morning with Michelle Elliot discussing our Park Board motion to thoughtfully invest in aging infrastructure.
We hope Ken Sim and Council listen to residents’ priorities.
The Early Edition with Michelle Elliot:
Today Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim promised about another property tax freeze and a $400 million community centre fund. if re-elected in October.
Here's my video on the promises, along with the difference between today and his first State of the City address.
A bit of an odd statement from OneCity about Ken Sim's promise of $400 million for community centres
Capital plans are funded separately from the yearly budget, and Vancouver has $1.4 billion in reserves set aside already
ABC might be playing cynical politics, but the money is pretty easy to find
My question is the $400mn over and above the typical $500-$550 million capital plan per cycle for parks. Or is it the entire capital plan which would mean a reduction investment. The Park Board asked for $1.35bn. Is his shortfall $900mn from what parks asked for… or $400mn for what parks asked for.
details (apparently) to come in the next couple of weeks!
The last capital plan was for $550mn. The park board just asked for $1.35bn. Without details… it seems like another cut?
Vancouver deserves a more accountable and representative City Hall.
The Vancouver Liberals will hold a referendum on a ward system in the following election, after the recommendations of a citizens' assembly.
Today is Vancouver’s 140th birthday as an incorporated city. Happy birthday, Vancouver!
A vote for the Vancouver Liberals is a vote to support our libraries and important essential services!

That's why the Vancouver Liberals will hire 400 unionized essential workers to ensure that these important programs and services will get better, and that workers will be adequately supported in their roles.
Libraries, Community Centres, Garbage Collection - these are all essential services provided by unionized workers in Vancouver.
Victoria, Jess, and the Vancouver Liberals team know that Vancouver residents and workers alike are feeling the lack of safe, clean, and funded programs and streets.

What a truly important articulation of the need for more direct tenant involvement in anything to do with rent increases. Tenants should not be solely responsible for costs that benefit landlords, and lead to more demovictions and renovictions.
Clearer rules = more equitable process for all.
Part of why I'm running for council is because I know disabilities shouldn't be a barrier to participation in any part of life. We deserve accommodations, we deserve support, we deserve funding, acceptance, love, respect.
We deserve to live beautiful lives as the unique individuals we are. ❤️✊🏻
The most important article you will read on housing today (an emerging dichotomy that can't be ignored):
"If it's cheaper for REITs to buy older apartment buildings and fix them up rather than buy new ones, perhaps the government should look into this too."
“Good leaders encourage diversity and dissent. Bad leaders demand conformity for control.”
Your voice counts!
Together… we can.
Shelters need to be closed during the day to be cleaned. ABC had 3.5 years to plan.
This is more of Ken Sim playing musical chairs… except in this version of the game… everyone loses.
72% of the city's community centres, pools & indoor rinks were in "poor or very poor condition"

A hallmark of our laws to prevent unexplained wealth among politicians is to require them to disclose their assets. It is now time to update those laws and require every politician in BC to disclose whether they have cryptocurrency or Bitcoin accounts.
This afternoon on the Jas Johal Show we discussed Ottawa’s action on cryptocurrency and the risks tied to Bitcoin ATMs. We’ve known about the risks of crypto-related money laundering for years. The question is, why hasn’t action been taken here in Vancouver? www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2Nr...
