Merry Critmas everyone!
I learned this lesson many years ago. As a result, I’m very selective about who joins my campaigns. One-shots are less selective though.
Damn! You’ve cracked the code. The secret is out!
Sounds like the beginning of a great adventure that will make for a great story.
So you want to be a Game Master cover. A woman wearing a red robe and holding a large tome is standing at the head of a table. In front of her is is a three panel screen flanked by a dice tower on each side. On the table is a hexagonal map of a fictional world that breaks into a stary expanse at the bottom of the page. Text to the right of the page states "Everything you need to start your tabletop adventure - for Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, and other systems." Author - Justin Alexander
#TTRPG #DnD Opinion:
This has been a better GM's guide than the actual Dungeon Master's Guide. There is a wealth of information contained within its pages.
To the delight or concern of the players?
Being the “Forever DM” is not the curse that everyone makes it out to be. Crafting stories, challenges, and entertaining encounters for you and your players is very rewarding. I know from experience.
What law of the land are these jackasses talking about? FYI, Kewanee, Illinois is a small farm town of about 12,000 people. Their newspaper is a nonprofit that is apparently way too liberal for some MAGA brainwashed local yokels.

The emboldened idiots of Illinois. I genuinely hope these morons get caught and punished for their threats.

100% agree.
Praise them for using their abilities to their fullest effect. Reward them for defeating a foe.
Remember, there is nothing wrong with the characters mopping the floor with an enemy. It is fun to feel like John Wick in a room full of minions.
GM Tip: Avoid arguments in D&D regarding what would be "realistic" in the real world. In that direction lies madness.
Math and physics don't work the same in D&D as they do in real life, which is why we have rules. Default to the rules as written, THEN decide if you want to make changes.
A charismatic southern gentleman who is actually a con artist and his southern gentleman bit is nothing but an act.
Ah the home game with inexperienced family. That brings back memories. I’d say keep the theme simple so they don’t get overwhelmed.
A personal favorite of mine is a frontier village on the edge of a dense forest is always under threat from monsters and politicians.
Coffee that strong would dissolve the spoon.
#DnD Tip: Don't worry about coming up with a solution to that trap or puzzle you've created. Just present the situation to the characters and sit back and watch them figure it out for you. In all probability, they will find several solutions to the challenge.
You have some great skill. Those are awesome!
The creation of a campaign concept should be a collaborative process. The question, “What game do y’all want to play next?” is basically the most simplistic form of this, work with your players to answer the key questions of the campaign concept.
Compared to the list of Traitor Tot's pardons, hunter Biden is an absolute angel.

I highly recommend the Discord server AltRole. Its whole existence is to be a welcoming space for new players who want to learn and play DnD.
1991 Dungeons & Dragons rules cyclopedia book.
I dug through some books in storage awhile back. This one now lives on the shelf.

Fire up your favorite music. Take a look back at session notes and think about what inspired the adventure.
This is the opposite of bad advice. As a matter of fact, I'm going to start doing this at our next session.
