I'm considering buying a new camera, and taking more pictures again.
And I'm looking at lenses. And there's one with a specific field of view that I used to love so much... I'd almost buy a new camera so I can use that lens. ๐ฌ
Had a Nikon D200 and a Sigma 30mm. Want a Nikon Z50II and Sigma 30mm

Yeah.... I don't quite have the soil for that (or patience)
So that's what it looks like when you actually take care of your rhododendrons ๐
This image is from an introduction to accessibility that I'm writing.
Do you have a Frequently Asked Question or common misconception that should also be in there?
Screen reader support is about following specifications. And when you follow them, screen readers benefit.
There is nothing in WCAG that says "support screen readers". It is about code quality and a lot of it can be caught by linters.
Screen readers don't need specific coding.
An illustration of a bridge, seen from the side. The left is solid, built from stones, and is labelled "your experience - built following standards". The right is sketched without colour. It's not solid. It's labelled "the visitor - using their tooling".
What does it mean when people mention "limited screen reader support"?
It usually means something was built shoddy and doesn't follow specifications, and mostly people with screen readers are excluded by it.
Screen reader support is about following specifications. And when you follow them, screen

"Could you imagine listening to that all day?" asks Rogers.

Don't write texts specifically for "blind people listening to screen readers"
- Being blind is a visual disability, not a cognitive one. ๐ฌ
- What if somebody reads this line with a braille rule? ๐ฑ
Stick to conventions. Let people use their tooling to work with that. Write something like: โฌ
A role of filament for a 3d printer in an off-white colour.
I've been looking forward to this order.
eSUN PLA+ filament for the 3d printer, in a colour called "bone white". It's a very nice one for skeletons, bones, and everything alike. I think it'll become something dinosaur-related for the kids.
Any suggestions?

The word unseen. Green on a white background.
If your text is white and light green, consider it unseen.
Don't expect people to read or notice what doesn't have contrast. (like this post)
WCAG 2.X AA says:
- Large text (at least 19px and bold, or 24px) needs a contrast of 3โถ1 or more.
- Regular text needs a contrast of 4.5โถ1 or more.
A building with piles of tires underneath as a foundation.
You wouldn't accept a house with a horrible foundation.
So why do we accept bad design systems?
Do you think accessibility is hard? Expensive? Slow? That's pretty much guaranteed when your tools are horrible.
Check your foundation before complaining about results.
I'm getting spam on a mail-address that I've only used for IAAP communication. Anybody else?
Just checking my assumptions on this one.
Is there a way to set a social media preview image (like opengraph) for a page fragment?

A stepper or multi-step form from the documentation of material design.
Don't use role="progressbar" for multi-step forms.
The spec says: "A progressbar indicates that the user's request has been received and the application is making progress toward completing the requested action."
Use an OL and aria-current. role="progressbar" sends the wrong message.
I'm writing to explain it better, but apparently that's hard to read ๐
Big brain ideas. Maybe I just shouldn't write anything, then there's no issues right? ๐
