$200 million for Trump’s large, fancy White House ballroom.

That’s what DOGE was for.

Not to save money for you.

To give money for some fancy place for Trump.

It’s time to get ruthless🔥

If California holds a special election on redistricting, I’m voting “yes” for new maps. And I promise you I’m bringing friends and family with me to vote.

The Supreme Court already made it clear it’s fine with gerrymandering. So screw it. LFG.

I want my government to be boring and competent enough so that I don’t have to think about it every goddamn minute.

Yes, the stock market may be tanking and our national security apparatus has never been more vulnerable and we're on the verge of both economic collapse and war, but it was all worth it to keep pronouns out of email signatures.

"The halftime show was boring."

Look, you may not be familiar with the genius of Kendrick Lamar and couldn't quite hear the lyrics and don't know the backstory and the symbolism went over your head, but trust me when I say you'll want to read an analysis of it and rewatch. A true masterpiece.

Ooo, ready to hear your thoughts on Mary, it seems polarizing to the book community and I don’t know if I want to prioritize it 🫣

The audacity of people on the internet is wild, they’ll just say anything when they don’t have to say it to your face. “You ruined a good persons experience is all.” Like??? My account does not exist to serve you and it would take less effort to keep scrolling???

The USA has had two major plane crashes in the last 4 days.

The USA had previously not suffered a major plane crash for 16 years.

‘DEI’ programs have existed for decades.

So what was it that changed in the last 14 days or so to suddenly cause so many crashes?

That’s ambitious! I want to be you when I’m a grown up reader, I check out 1 audiobook and maybe 1 book at a time because I’m scared I’ll overwhelm myself 😂

In my world, “the talk” is what Black parents have w/our kids, about how to survive an encounter w/police who see them as a threat because of our skin color.

Latino families have their talk, w/kids even younger, about ICE who see them as criminals: “If we disappear…”

Different fear. Same America.

FAA Chief Quit on Jan. 20 After Elon Musk Told Him to Resign Michael Whitaker had only been in the role for a year but the SpaceX chief accused him of “harassment.”

I missed this entirely:

The FAA Administrator criticized Space X’s safety record and threatened fines.

Musk demanded he resign.

He did.

On January 20th.

Dept of Education is up next on the chopping block.

Stop fucking saying he blamed “DEI,” which is some abstract, non-tangible idea. He is blaming people of color having jobs he thinks they aren’t qualified for. He’s blaming race. He’s being racist every time he says it. Journalists need to get fucking backbones, my word.

Every disaster movie starts with scientists being ignored. Good thing we’re not doing that.

i think it is important to say that the open and explicit racism of the president and the vice president isn’t just uncouth or “controversial” but a direct attack on tens of millions of americans and a dereliction of their duty to represent the entire country

Reading is a race; a race against time. How am I supposed to finish this whole-ass TBR when I can’t stop adding new books to it??? #booksky
