ICE needs to end this surge of agents now. It was clear two and a half weeks ago. It is especially clear now. Get out of Minnesota.
It's important for everyone across the country to know what is happening here in Minnesota. I was thankful for the opportunity to join PBS NewsHour and share some of what I am seeing.
This administration can "punish" our city, and they can "punish" our state, but they will never break our spirit.
This incident is important to me personally, but that’s not why it matters. Every single “raid” across our city and state involves someone who is important to someone.

I’m monitoring reports of the ICE-involved shooting in Minneapolis. ICE needs to end their so-called “operation” and leave our state immediately.
Today, I joined with @mayorjacobfrey.bsky.social & Mayor Her to announce a joint lawsuit to end the unlawful and unprecedented surge of ICE agents in Minnesota.
People are being racially profiled, harassed, terrorized, and assaulted.
It has to stop.
AG Keith Ellison, Minneapolis and St Paul mayors announce plan to sue federal government.

I am closely monitoring the situation in Minneapolis. My heart is broken for the victim, their family, and our community as a whole. I join Mayor Frey in demanding that ICE leave our cities immediately before they cause any further harm.
I may be the first, but I won't be the last! Let's get to work, Saint Paul!
Our state is better because of his leadership, I am a better public servant because of his example, and I will always be grateful for his partnership. I look forward to working with him over the next year as we make progress for all Saint Paulites.
I worked closely with the Governor when I was chair of the Pensions Committee to ensure that all Minnesotans get the retirements they deserve, when we increased the English Language Learner subsidy after it sat stagnant for decades, and passing tenant protections for renters so they have rights.
Governor Walz led our state through extraordinary times with grace and a steady hand. We owe him a debt of gratitude.
