4 runners seen side by side running down the middle of the road. The road is quiet and safe because it is in a low traffic neighbourhood
Two kids cycling side by side down a quiet road within a low traffic neighbourhood. Other cyclists oncoming in the distance
‘Quality of life’ isn’t a big house, luxury goods or a fancy car. It’s being able to cycle your kids on safe streets or run side by side down peaceful roads with your friends. Everyone can & should have this.
Have you signed our save Graham Street light rail station petition yet? We need just a few more signatures to get to 800

@seattledot.bsky.social I’ve see many near collisions at Pine & 4th.
Last I checked the bike barrier was scheduled for restoration on 4/20 (WO #1223257).
If you can’t meet that schedule please post hazard signs, or close the left vehicle lane until the barrier can be restored to ensure safety.
@seattledot.bsky.social the Pine & 4th bike barrier has been significantly out of position for over a month.
There are 4 signs letting drivers know there is construction a couple blocks away.
There isn’t a single sign letting cyclists know the bike lane is about to be 20”’ wide, mixing with cars.
Blocking curb ramps
Not blocking
I expect better Capitol Hill. Don’t park 🛴 in curb ramps they block 👨🦽➡️👩🏻🦯. I took 60 seconds and made it a bit better
I just spent four hours this morning at the market/waterfront with a two year old (left phone at home which I highly recommend).
My immediate takeaways:
Pike Place Market just released new sales data for Feb 2026. Looks like Jan+Feb 2026 had 11% higher sales than Jan+Feb 2025 (before the pedestrian pilot)! Congrats Seattle, you managed to find a way to shop at the market in the dead of winter without driving your cars through the middle of it.

Graphic with “suburban sprawl” at the top and four checked boxes that say “bankrupting public costs, skyrocketing, household costs, paralyzing car dependency, and irreversible harm to the future.” The bottom line says “the cost is far too high.” Via the URBAN TRUTH COLLECTIVE
They want us to think that Suburban Sprawl is cheap. But the truth is, the costs are FAR too high. #UrbanTruth
Grab your helmets, wheels, or running shoes and head to Lake Washington this summer!
Seattle Parks & Recreation (@seattleparksandrec.bsky.social) is bringing Bicycle Weekends to Lake Washington Boulevard every weekend this year from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

“The best transportation plan is a great land-use plan.” – City of Vancouver planning and engineering staff. Message via the Urban Truth Collective.
Here’s one that’s really important to understand and remember, especially if you work in a city hall — the best transportation plan is a great land-use plan. #UrbanTruth
Tell City Council to pass a bolder comprehensive plan!
- Expand housing options beyond noisy, polluted roads
-Update zoning to make apartments feasible to build
-Legalize family-friendly designs like courtyard apartments and mass timber buildings

It's amazing that there are people across the city working to pedestrianize streets. It's not just Pike Place. And we are joining forces thanks to @streetsalliance.bsky.social.
A big thank you to the @seattledot.bsky.social crew installing safety improvements at Pine & Bellevue this morning! 🙏
One concern: Please install curb extensions on the NE, SW, and SE corners for daylighting and to prevent the parking lane from being used as a slip lane to pass and turn.
Crowd of people holding “Save Rail to Ballard” signs
Amazing turnout on a sunny Saturday to save Ballard rail! Thank you to everyone who came out to help organize and build the movement. If you couldn’t make it, visit saveballardrail.org to get involved!
Low concrete barrier 2 feet out of position and reducing the bike lane to 2 feet wide.
@seattledot.bsky.social it’s April 3rd and the temporary bike safety barrier at 4th & Pine is still significantly out of place. Reducing the bike lane to a hazardous 2’ wide.
I called to get the status of WO 1220214 (from 3/18). It was closed, but not restored.
I’ve opened a new ticket WO 1223257.
WATCH: Whether you love cars or hate cars, you should watch this new video and better understand the truth about the real costs & consequences of too many cars in our cities, and the car dependency many of us live in. You might find it hard to watch, but watch it to the end anyway. Via #NotJustBikes
Someone at the open house asked why aren't we building on top of Delridge station... good question
The Yesler Way bike lanes are open, connecting the downtown network to the waterfront and ferries

Text says: “We CAN’Tdo that in our city.” And then… “we MUST do that in our city.” Tag line at the bottom says “Sometimes leadership can be found in just one word.” Via the Urban Truth Collective.
Sometimes leadership (and excuses) can be found in just one word.

It’s great to see the beginning of safety improvements at Pine & Bellevue. 🙏
This scooter corral on the NW corner will help daylight the corner and prevent drivers from using the curb lane to pass drivers on the right.
@seattledot.bsky.social are you planning similar on the other three corners?
Look how nice things could be if we just got out of our own way.
🎶❤️🚊🌁🎉
Really appreciate our electeds who took the time to tour the Rainier side of the new Judkins Park light rail today. There's still work to do to make this a safe and comfortable place for people to walk, roll, ride & live and it's going to take all of us pushing and dreaming of something better!
Advocacy may take a while but it does get results! I-90 ramps at Rainier finally have raised crosswalks and warning lights.

Crews are out along Yesler Way in Pioneer Square to complete a new connection for people biking & scooting between the Waterfront and the downtown bike network today & into the weekend.

We ask everyone outside of the car to be safe so that drivers can be dangerous.
That’s the entirety of our approach to road safety.
I was able to talk with the @seattledot.bsky.social crew and they were able to adjust it to improve access and safety. Thank you! 🙏
Side note: SDOT please train your crews to be aware of these issues, and be respectful to people who ask for safety adjustments.
@seattledot.bsky.social it’s great to see crews working to fix the Rapid Ride G platform issues.
However, the street closed sign at 13th is placed in a way that blocks the crosswalk and forces ADA access into the street.
Please adjust to safely accommodate people who need to use the ADA ramp.
