I do when I’m in a season of interviewing. I try to follow the STAR outline for describing projects. I’ll explain the Situation, Task required, Action I took, and the Result. Great question!

The portfolio is less important to me after the first couple data jobs I held. What matters more at this point is networking and being able to verbally describe previous projects I’ve worked on for an interview.
That’s an honor! I just borrowed both books from my local library yesterday! Excited to read them
I thought my aluminum, 96% keyboard was heavy. Slap a Mac mini in there and reaching the power button might require a professional power lifter 😆
I wish I had stumbled upon it earlier! I agree, the majority of people who I’ve worked with fell into it.
Why do I like left commas when writing SQL? It’s way easier to find the missing comma in a long query 😆
I don’t care about my title as long as it’s not “data ninja” 😆 I saw that one once and cringed
Is there such a thing as using too many macros in dbt?
I once had to debug someone’s dbt model, and they had at least 20 macros in the query. It actually made it really hard to find and fix the issue.
Haha no shade to Tino. Most of BQ is fine, the date_diff function was the biggest pain for me to remember 🤦🏻♂️
True! But transitioning to BigQuery and having to learn its SQL dialect almost killed me 😆
When you’re really mad you can just throw on caps lock and type away your anger 😆
I can’t deny that Tableau looks better than PowerBI most of the time. But at the end of the day, PowerBI’s data transformations win over Tableau. I’d rather have an easy to use product than a pretty product.
Sometimes, data analytics feels like you’re a Helpdesk technician.
If you find yourself in this situation though, maybe just quit 😂
Comparison is the theft of all joy.
I don’t ever share on social media how much money I make.
Salary is just a metric, it can’t be used to compare one person’s value or worth to another.
If you wonder if you’re being underpaid, compare your salary to Indeed’s salary distribution.

I started a new job a month ago and this is exactly how it feels haha
I have no idea what’s going on, but I’m here to learn 😆
