… I personally think knowing too much going in kills the vibes, and am fine with it being a sapphic surprise / subtext in this case because I think ANY erotic elements in this film would be subtextual anyway. But that’s just me!

I personally am more concerned with the art itself, but I see what you mean! Ultimately, the way this whole thing has been marketed has been …strange. It is a niche director making a weird movie — the only reason it’s going for a wide audience at all is because it’s at A24 and involves pop stars…

I wouldn’t take advertising copy written by A24 as gospel. David Lowery knew what he was making and it’s… really fucking obvious.
