I really need to learn to avoid "scientists" who preach white supremacist ideas like "overpopulation" as a cause of climate destruction rather than capitalism, colonialism, and industrial ag.

I've neglected this account but I've been seeing a lot of horse training videos on my TL lately and I'd just like to remind people that consistently frustrating a horse during training sessions is not training a horse to work- it's training them to HATE work.

The Voyager holodeck "Are you two friends?" meme, where an episode character in an orange swimsuit asks Harry and Tuvok, "are you two friends?" and Harry answers "yes", while Tuvok says "no" nearly simultaneously. In this version, I have labelled Tuvok "actual farmers" and Harry "industrial ag".

Most people assume I get subsidies bc I've been farming so long, but I'd need roughly ten times the livestock I currently have.

I'll consider that my existence is annoying/rude. Good luck.

And this is why we let the thistles grow. Covered in dozens of species today, truly glorious.

A large volunteer black raspberry bramble laden with red and black berries. The afternoon sun highlights the green in gold, and the forest behind offers shade.

The brambles are doing their thing

Lost a decent amount of thistles in yesterday's storms. It was such a nice crop, too, best we've had here. So it goes.

Stalks of harvest ready timothy hay in the foreground, a red maple and other trees and more meadow in the background. The sun glares through the maple, the sky is still white and blue but promises rain.

Hay and horses are used in many types of farming, you're clearly ignorant, and way too loud about it. Go look up what a Percheron is and get back to me. Or better yet, don't.

It rarely gets coverage, and as I said- it's been happening since ICE was implemented.

The lack of coverage is purposeful, because people generally don't care when farmworkers get raided.

It's not a lack of incidents that makes it invisible- it's a lack of compassion.

Quite a few of you seem to think ICE is giving rural areas "a pass" bc we're "red".

You're wrong on both counts.

What you're really saying is how ignorant you are, likely willfully.

ICE has been terrorizing rural areas since its inception, and the fact you deny it makes you complicit.

Let's see, so far I've found reports of raids around Omaha, Lincoln, Lexington, and Grand Island.

You know why? I bothered to look in places that will report on it.

There is not a chance in hell the majority of people on this website (or any other) would have a *clue* if ICE was raiding, say, Frenchman Valley Produce or a packing plant in North Platte.

Who would even tell you?
