BBC News so keen to placate Reform UK voters that it's resorted to advertising for the party despite being in the "electoral purdah" period.

What next? Immigration figures, presented by Nigel Farage? Richard Tice, presenting a consumer finance programme?

Gas generation falls as wind farms set new quarterly generation record New data shows wind generation reached 29.2TWh during the first quarter, as gas power output fell 16 per cent year-on-year

Gas generation was down 16 per cent in the first quarter due to the UK's latest wind power generation record. If it weren't for renewables this fossil fuel-induced energy crisis would be even worse. www.businessgreen.com/news/4528492...

AI is predicted to demand 40gw - above the correct 30+gw.

I can't believe the value of AI exceeds the value of all the things that the UK does today. Especially when there is desperate shortage of infrastructure.

I love all the covered parking at my job. Work put in a ton of solar panels over quite a few parking lots at all their buildings. They generate enough electricity to power a significant segment of the city where I work.

In the 1930s, Oswald Mosley claimed to be a patriot, while his British Union of Fascists was secretly funded by the Italian government. We are just beginning to grasp how much of the far right in the UK today has been funded by Viktor Orbán and Russian oil money.
Their "patriotism" is always a con.

I believe the Green proposal is a tax on total wealth, not a marginal tax rate of assets over a certain value? Also £2.3m is worth considerably more in purchasing power in Hungary than the UK. There are a lot more super-rich people here too. But yes could definitely normalise wealth redistribution.

Picking winners.

There are scores of SMR start-ups globally, all touting that they will sell hundreds of units. As in all industry types, most will fail. I expect the hedge funds will be betting against RR. Rightly so.

A crucial article, but one quibble. I've been arguing since 1997 that Frank Furedi, Claire Fox and the rest of the gruesome "Revolutionary Communist Party" goons were NEVER on the left: the RCP was a far-right front from the outset. No surprise when they started working for Orbán, Farage & Johnson🧵
