A black-and-white digital illustration of a scene from the book "The Trials of Jarlbaith" in a Charcoal style.
The scene depicts the opening of the book where Jarlbaith Thorne is kneeling in a throne room before his king. Jarlbaith is wearing an ornate suite of armor that gleams brightly with metal inlays and filigree.
An excerpt from the book of this scene:
"The Champion Jarlbaith knelt lowly with a hand over his chest and the other a fist to the floor. He was dressed in a decorated black and silver suit of armor before an ancient man slouching back in a glittering golden throne perched upon a dais. The old man’s face was ancient with craterous wrinkles that gouged every corner of his face, highlighted by pure-white eyebrows as bushy as an unwelcoming forest, and long strands of wispy hair pressed into parting under a hefty jewel-bespoke golden crown. He was covered in a cloak that appeared to be a portal to the stars, only to shimmer and shift in unexpected ways as his expanding chest shifted the creases in the silky soft fabric. The ancient man was positioned as the focus point of a grand chamber, upon a dais, flanked by smaller and less decorated chairs, but they were presently empty.
This crowned man was Jarlbaith’s King."
