Holy moley, Routine was finally released in December?
I've had it on my Steam wishlist since 2012 and never had the heart to remove it. Which is good, because if I had, I wouldn't have been notified that it was on sale.
I hope it was worth the 14-year wait.

Pro-tip: if you are ever designing a networking system (an alternative to TCP/IP, for example), consider including a name-to-address lookup mechanism (it doesn't have to be DNS, but SOMETHING) so that devices on the network don't ALSO NEED TCP/IP CONNECTIVITY to meaningfully communicate.
Just had a galaxy brain idea:
A programming language where lists have both an "Add" method and an "Append" method, and those methods *do not do the same thing*.
Using "Append" when you should have used "Add" will silently cause the list to be unmodified.
If this happens to you, you can set the screen lock password on the original device (even if it's to the same value), and you should be able to restore the backup on the other device again.
Of course, this doesn't help if you no longer have access to the device, or it's inoperable.
Just discovered that if one uses Google One backup for Android across multiple devices (possibly in combination with one of the phones being Samsung) it can desync what Google thinks the screen lock password is for restoring the backup, and you'll get "wrong password" when trying to restore.
Playing through the cut content has been joyous but has left me hungry for more! I'd pay good money for dlc where the original vision for the game is playable in its entirety, though I appreciate this is perhaps unrealistic 😅
Great work, people! @rainaaudron.bsky.social @blincoln.bsky.social
Go get it! Lovingly restored with (apparently) deleted areas from the original available to playthrough!
Currently on my way home from work: this is going straight on when I get in the door 🥰
Thank you @rainaaudron.bsky.social, and also to @blincoln.bsky.social whose work on TLW I followed since high school back in 2001. Seeing the Lost Levels in an official release is a dream come true.
Congratulations to @rainaaudron.bsky.social, the first person to bring Legacy of Kain back to market in 21 years.
There is no better person in the world to have taken charge of these remasters, and it shows.
We can never begin to thank you and your team enough for finally restoring Nosgoth.
I also added a walkthrough/comparison of using Broken Hill's rollback feature to jailbreak Phi-3, with some statistics and analysis of effectiveness versus a few other configurations: github.com/BishopFox/Br...
I'm very happy to announce a major update to Broken Hill. Highlights:
* CPU processing is now 20-500 times faster
* Mac OS and Windows support
* Automatic state backup every iteration
* Added support for at least 30 new models

I'm pretty excited to finally be able to share the "greedy coordinate gradient" LLM attack tool I've been working on for the last few months.

Does your online store have an embarrassingly-broken search, filter, or sort feature, but you, the business owner, don't know about it because your support team keeps telling customers it seems to be working fine? Try the options you never use - the results may surprise you!

Thanks for the "it's 2005 and this is the first Winamp skin I've ever made" Office 365 UI update, Microsoft.
Really shows off the raw power that became available by bundling "Electron-but-MS-Edge" into Office, causing every Office app to spawn 15-30 processes and use 2GB of RAM.
Someone's [making the dual-wield finger-gun sacred gesture of victory] today because someone [spent time taking apart a system to understand how it works, writing a tool, or just passing on their knowledge] a long time ago."

It didn't seem like there were any good examples to practice against, so I also built a sample vulnerable application to test your tooling: https://github.com/BishopFox/VulnerableGWTApp
It's likely exploitable without authentication, unless access control is handled by a non-GWT layer of the stack. My writeup includes a walkthrough of building and using payloads with a modified version of ysoserial: https://github.com/BishopFox/ysoserial-bf
My writeup on a "2,950-day" deserialization vulnerability in the GWT framework just went up. It's still unpatched 8 years later. To my knowledge no one has described how to exploit it publicly until now. If your organization uses GWT, you should read this.
*very belatedly realizes that "Rowhammer" was most likely partially named in reference to Gandalf's sword, and that its name in Sindarin would be something like "Lîrdring"*
An image of a road, captured from the last shot of Terminator 2. Overlaid on the image is faux-HTML enclosed in a "Sarah Connor" tag. The content of the tag reads: August 9th, 2015. The unknown future rolls toward us. I face it - for the first time - with a sense of hope. Because if the Apache Solr developers - after eight years of public releases - can learn the value of building authentication into their platform... ...maybe anyone else can too.
