Folkstone's Luna. Some dialect of the valleys north of Bergamo. I'm Italian and I need subs, but it's beautiful.

Their exploration of the first dungeon (the Barrow Mound) was fun. They were extra careful and scared of their own shadows. They missed quite a bit of treasure, but having both a Rogue and an Elf helped them to find enough secret passages.

They took so much pleasure in exploring NPCs' lives and motivations they managed to hire two adventurers (Hilda and Squints) basically out of curiosity, so now they form a well stocked party of 5. They didn't consider haggling on the fare, though, so every NPC got a full share of the treasure.

Spending GPs to buy watered down beer in fiction took some attrition, but then they got the hang of it. They got a sidequest (the beer thief) which my wife helped solve with some bluntness. They still haven't released the fairy, who's been living in a sack for one day by now.

We were playing Black Wyrm of Brandonsford. The only hook they had was the pirate's treasure. My wife, who has played quite a lot by this time, guided them to the nearest tavern. From there, they started interacting with NPCs "just to see what happens".

Yesterday night I introduced my wife's cousin and his GF to #D&D via #BECMI because that's what I had at hand. He asked me to play D&D and realized it was an RPG about halfway into the introduction. A thread on paying with the purest newbies I've ever met.

A gaming table, with a huge point-crawl-like map prominently at the center. Scattered around are character sheets, tangerines, water canteens, pens, dice, a deck of playing cards and two copies of a book titled FanX. One of them has the cover printed the wrong way.
Yesterday was the first day of Total Party Kon, the Italian OSR convention I organize. I have a lot of stories, but this picture marks the first appearance of FanX as a physical object and I want to share it.

Home again, it was a great day but my throat and ears are tired. You know what old castles aren't built for? The acoustics of 100+ people playing together. Still, playing with frescoes all around is something.

A wooden table, set with a huge strip of paper, dice, pencils and a home-printed manual titled "FanX"
Ready to play FanX a Casteldadia, a FREE gaming event inside an Italian Renaissance castle.
If I'm lucky, it's also going to be the last time I have to print the damned manual at home.

2/ Agenda setting follows emotional and sensationalist patterns, but it is certainly under pressure from far right parties that have chosen to brand Kirk’s “martyrdom” as a watershed moment in their relationship with the left. To go along with this instrumentalization is madness.

1/ European media are devoting a disproportionate amount of attention to the assassination of a politician nobody in Europe had ever heard of, except for a few nerds, while giving almost none to the guilty verdict for a coup attempt in Brazil.

I might be getting a tad old for 7+ hours protest marches, but it was worth it and I still managed to drag my ass across most of it.
And now I need a lot of water (and maybe a beer or two).

It's beautiful! I love that it takes the elements which are in my pfp but go into a completely different direction with them than the full picture it comes from. How many things we can do with the same elements.

If you want to get at least decent at writing, grab a copy of Queneau's Exercices de style (not necessarily in French), read it and copy it. Write a lot of small things playing with different styles and see how much it changes the text. It's also a lot of fun.

This is not how corporations respond to an ineffective protest. This is how they respond to a protest that they would like to have go away.
So don't let it go away. Keep it going.
In fact, Streissand Effect this shit. Call attention to how much they want this to go away.

Yep. Tolkien knew what he was doing. I don't agree with him about a lot of stuff, but the Shire is pretty clearly intended to be a reflection of both the positive and negative aspects of small town/rural life

my timeline is FULL of people using chatgpt to show how chatgpt is rubbish and seemingly not aware that by using it, even to dunk, is still boiling the frigging oceans. we get it, it's useless. you can stop now. you're not convincing anyone of anything we don't already know.

Yeah, this looks a lot like something which should be investigated in the framework of organized crime. And punished in the same framework.

August is usually a hiatus month, but I'm planning to smuggle something light for a one shot on whatever we're doing for Ferragosto.
