As a co-owner of a living campaign using PF2e rules (The Relicborne Saga btw), it can feel super small some days when it comes to supplies and supplements, but I don't think it'll stay that way forever with how wotc treats creators vs the acceptance which paizo encourages

Ever wondered why walking around museums is weirdly tiring? At normal speed our legs act like pendulums, swinging forward from the hip & saving us a huge amount of energy. In "museum shuffle" our muscles must do ALL the work of constant readjustment. So cake in the cafe is scientifically justified 🥳

Here's a little different example of a Mansion Inn Blade, this type having a very tall and flat blade and "broad angular shoulders." The shoulders are low on the blade and there are usually no notches. T Archaic to E Woodland, c. 3,000BP. (Boudreau 2016:102). 🧪🏺🐡

Searching for History in Zelda: Breath of the Wild #archaeology #zelda #heritage YouTube video by Archaeology Tube

In this video essay I use #Archaeogaming approaches to talk about how the landscape and the things on it become meaningful to a culture. It uses Zelda: Breath of the Wild to do so. I really like these videos and would love for more folks to see them! 🧪🏺🐡

Idk who needs to hear this but please have basic common courtesy.

If someone asks you how you’re doing, look at them when you respond, and ASK THEM BACK. For example:

“How was your Thanksgiving?”
“It was [your answer]. How was yours?”

And listen.

Kindness goes a long way!

For the Americans on my timeline. I’m so envious of Thanksgiving food, it looks incredible.

The issue with the many Black Friday deals is that 0% of their proceeds go towards supporting—uhhhh—The Museum Of English Rural Life.

Today, you have the chance to change that 🤝

A whole rainbow of little resin duckies. They’re very cute and make a cute desk decoration. They look like candy, but they’re inedible.

🐤 BLACK FRIDAY DEAL (?) 🐤

I admittedly do not have a big sale because I can’t afford to right now, but if you spend more than $30 in my shop today, I’ll include a tiny duckie for you.

Just write “QUACK FRIDAY” in the notes of your order (I won’t include one otherwise)!

When an archaeologist deletes a post on Bluesky it’s known as a post hole.

Fuck that.

I’m gonna’ show you the cool stuff I’m making and where to get it, whenever I want, and you should to!

Can’t support artists if you don’t know about their cool shit!

I filled in for a colleague today & taught a teen drawing class on artifact illustration! We had a great time & their pieces are gorgeous! (Mine is the spindle whorl on the left, they did the lithics & pipe!) 🏺

Hadrian's Wall, even the most majestic stretches, is generally now only a few feet high.

Where'd the rest go? It's everywhere. Reused in churches, medieval castles, and local farmhouses. And of course field walls.

When the stones stopped serving one purpose, they were recycled for others.

I'm worried that a) even archaeologists don't always immediately recognise when AI-generated images are being used to market archaeological research, and b) that this signals an increasing trend of outsourcing creative visualisations of the past to AI

I have a new video up on YouTube discussing archaeobotany, zooarchaeology, and prebunking a coming "criticism" that misunderstands how archaeologists study food remains. Give it a watch and a share! 🧪🏺🐡

Huge win from @franzanth.bsky.social creating a Content Scraper Blocklist: bsky.app/profile/cont...

It's a blocklist for the kinds of engagement bait accounts that repost stolen content, often with misleading captions.

Put together a big 'ol starter pack of good beans to follow for indie #ttrpg folks. Designers, artists, layout, etc.

I'll probably keep adding to it, so feel free to shout out people I missed! (including yourself)

If you're peddling weird 3rd party content for games or indie systems, you are my ally.

The age of 1st party shit is done. We are the real creators now imbuing the space with content that they want. Be weird. Create stuff the corpos never would. You're brave for doing so.
