What's insane is people think it's insane. The revolutionary war started when the Brits came after privately owned artillery (you know-- cannons), rifles, and ammunition. It's not anything new.

The most annoying thing about donating to dem-adjacent causes and politicians is:

THE INCESSENT TEXT MESSAGES YOU HAVE TO OPT OUT OF FROM THAT POINT UNTIL YOU ARE LAYING ON YOUR DEATH BED.

Even then, you'll roll over and text "STOP" one more time.

Uhhhh.... These cities went BIG for Harris?? What's the point in lying?

A portion of John Quincy Adams' Amistad argument before SCOTUS: "I will not recur to the Declaration of Independence--your Honors have it implanted in your hearts--but one of the grievous charges brought against George III. was, that he had made laws for sending men beyond seas for trial. That was one of the most odious of those acts of tyranny which occasioned the American revolution. The whole of the reasoning is not applicable to this case, but I submit to your Honors that, if the President has the power to do it in the case of Africans, and send them beyond seas for trial, he could do it by the same authority in the case of American citizens. By a simple order to the marshal of the district, he could just as well seize forty citizens of the United States, on the demand of a foreign minister, and send them beyond seas for trial before a foreign court."

Was just reading John Quincy Adams' oral arguments before SCOTUS in the Amistad case and this part seems, uh, pretty relevant

When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretense of loving liberty--to Russia perhaps where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocrisy."

"As a nation, we began by declaring that 'all men are created equal.' We now practically read it 'all men are created equal, except negroes.' [It will soon] read 'all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics.'

Don't be fooled.

DOGE and Elon Musk are after the personal data of Americans, government contracts, and financial systems. They are not saving anything. Few billions are claimed as savings from stopping essential programs. This is not saving.

US budget is $6.7 trillion. $8.6 billion only verified

Attending a VFW meeting for the first time in years. As a Life Member, Ive just been too busy/never made time outside my little family.

With things like they are now, I felt I need to jump in waist deep.

I'm just not sure how the room is going to lean, especially in my MAGA heavy region.

This is one of Dr. Seuss’ war cartoons published in 1941. It is as true today as it was then.

Anybody still follow that Secret Squirrel David dude on the *other* site that was a total phony/poser & hardcore MAGA turd that insisted Trump would help Ukraine MORE?

I'd really like to know how he's melting down rt now.

How can past politicians, joint chiefs, intelligence officers, and presidents stand by and allow this to happen w barely a peep? We are watching the fall of American influence & democracy in real time. Why is there not a coordinated effort outside of @aoc.bsky.social or @adamkinzinger.bsky.social?

For the record:

What happened in the WH today has made me physically ill. This cannot be allowed to stand. It must not. These Russian puppets must be forced from office, damn the torpedoes.

We must act!

So, Michelle Trachtenberg...

She was a couple years younger than me and I'd never watched Buffy or anything, but I saw her in EuroTrip I thought she was gorgeous. What a heartbreaker.

It's disingenuous to bitch about egg prices. We know it has nothing to do with the administration...

Except that the NIH and CDC were defunded/silenced and birdflu is nowhere in the news cycle.

But seriously, those egg prices aren't "his" fault.

Let's keep a level playing field, fellas.

Dems/Goblue.org,

Quit sending me fundraising emails if you are going to continue doing NOTHING to organize and stop the current tyranny. Take some action or make some plan and I'll consider it.

This is why you lost the election: lack of *effective* communication from the Admin to the ground.

Since JD Vance's post that was reposted by Musk Re: Ignoring the judicial branch, SM has gotten-- Spicy.

The political discourse is hardly discourse anymore, it's just unveiled threats.

Dems need to organize & do something bc people are getting sick of waiting & they're scared. Not a good combo.

There needs to be a protest group for moderates. I went to the protest at my state capital last week and was immediately turned off by a Soviet flag flying and chants related to Palestine. Like I get that some of these groups have experience with organizing protests, but that's not why I'm there.

"He, legally, has the ability--along the border, or in these cities where, for instance, the George Floyd protests took place-- to use the military to keep order [using the Insurrection Act]."

Deploying the military in our own cities under shady Consitutional theory will be a point of no return.
