FACT: Hitler and the Nazi Party repeatedly exaggerated or outright fabricated crime and unrest in order to justify taking over policing powers, centralizing control, and dismantling democratic safeguards.
When you strip away humanity
The 14th Amendment was ratified on this day in 1868. It guarantees:
✔️ due process for all
✔️ birthright citizenship
✔️ equal protection under the law
Now more than ever, we're determined to protect these essential rights.
Oh and if you’re looking for more after this boycott, why not cancel your Prime account and stop spending on Amazon entirely?
This is just the beginning.
Shopping locally and directly is a long-term resistance effort.

To further clarify, a Republican-led Judiciary Committee voted against protecting American citizens from unlawful detention and exile in a common-sense amendment introduced by Rep. Pramila Jayapal on the GOP’s border and defense reconciliation package.
Forgive the earnest post here, but one year ago this week, Global Tetrahedron took over The Onion. We've since brought back the paper and ONN, dramatically increased revenue, and hired more writers and artists.
But most importantly, as other places debased themselves, we refused to bend the knee.

It’s hard for me to believe this is a “radical, leftist, socialist, commie” way to think.
Mahmoud Khalil, a legal U.S. resident, has been held in an ICE detention center for over a month but has still not been charged with a crime.
did he not learn his lesson the first time?
I feel like we need to keep saying this because it’s so insane: This is a legal U.S. resident who has been detained for over a month now for his political opinions.
at this point 2025 feels like being awake during surgery
Honestly, me too.
It’s important to note this is not and was never about citizenship. It’s about removing diversity and dissent to authoritarian power.
Every man denied due process deserves basic rights because they are human. But remember that they are just the first and no one is safe:

“Race does not provide an accurate representation of human biological variation,” the statement reads. “Humans are not divided biologically into distinct continental types or racial genetic clusters. Instead, the Western concept of race must be understood as a classification system that emerged from, and in support of, European colonialism, oppression, and discrimination.” “It thus does not have its roots in biological reality, but in policies of discrimination,” the statement says. “Because of that, over the last five centuries, race has become a social reality that structures societies and how we experience the world. In this regard, race is real, as is racism, and both have real biological consequences.”
Trump's 3/27 executive order targets the Smithsonian for advancing "the view that race is not a biological reality but a social construct."
Trump argues that the exhibit's statement, below, is unscientific. He's wrong. As a biology professor and population geneticist, I agree with every word of it.

Smiling and nodding when Elon says “if we cancel something good we’ll just put it back in like we did with ebola prevention” requires you to believe that Elon Musk both is and should be the emperor.
My colleague @seth-stern.bsky.social literally just published an article today titled, “If Trump can deport pro-Palestine activists, journalists could be next”
“Once a government claims the power to use residency status as a cudgel to regulate speech, things escalate quickly and unpredictably.”
An infographic titled "SOME OF THE DEPT OF EDUCATION’S KEY PROGRAMS:" featuring the U.S. Department of Education seal at the center, which includes a tree and the text "DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." Surrounding the seal are seven circular labels, each listing a key program: "School lunch programs," "Pell Grants," "Low-income school funding," "School safety programs," "Vocational training and services," "Aid for schools on federal land," and "Student debt relief programs." The background is white, and the text is in black.
This is what he signed an EO and might destroy at the Education Department.
Courageous people like Larry are one of the few reasons that people like me are still allowed to exist.
It’s never too late to open yourself to having your mind changed. He listened to others and realized he was wrong, and more importantly, he was able to admit it.
Thank you, Larry.
X post by Timothy Snyder (@TimothyD ...), posted 6 hours ago. The post reads, "The people Attorney General Bondi is calling 'terrorists' have had no trial and no chance to defend them. We do not know they are. Ignoring the Constitution does not make us safe. It puts us all in peril."
I know this first hand. When I was a child, my entire community was branded as spies and sabateurs, justifying our internment inside barbed wire camps for years without due process, trial or charge.
Finally getting around to watching this, it starts off goofy but turns inspiring pretty quickly. Definitely recommend!
Setting aside the incredibly dangerous and fascist aspect of this, is there actual evidence that Khalil was a “Hamas supporter”? Or is the standard for a green-card holder being sent to a secret location and possibly deported just “critical of Israel”?
