You can't go wrong with the purity of the original game, still an amazing game with nuanced handling. I'm still stripping milliseconds off.

Hints of the diving in Fiendish Freddy's Big Top o' Fun - loved that as a kid!

The character NiGHTS soars elegantly through the winter sky, collecting items in the Link Attack mode. The player has achieved 327 Links.
Anyone wanting to get into Link Attack mode, here's a MiSTer compatible save file to get you going..

It's about time for some (Christmas) NiGHTS! There's no game I adore more – the most significant, original release on Saturn, representing the heart and soul of the system.. and the soundtrack is a huge part of that. Pure, innocent, joyous, magical.

Happy to take some more photos but there’s probably a pdf out there somewhere! It’s a decent issue that has survived emigrating to Australia.. my DC collection unfortunately did not!
*cosy*!
There's a bit of Lemmings in there – and some difficult decisions built in - you might have to collapse a tunnel and sacrifice for the greater good.
Also toyed with a more relaxed play aspect – some time to make the burrow cost before it's time to grow again.
Game idea: Rabbits! You're tasked with expanding your burrow as more and more bunnies are born.
Instruct them to dig tunnels or set up homes, but look out! — there are unfriendly creatures lurking in the underground world who might invade at any time..
Like Burnout crash mode, but instead of using your car to cause the mayhem you simply place a banana peel. I like it!
...and while i was writing this i noticed you replied the same to another comment :)
Absolutely agree, and I really miss Webrings - connecting hobbyist and niche sites made the internet feel like a community.
When we got our first ISP in ~96 I discovered it had some web space. The idea of putting something on it was intoxicating. I’ve been working online ever since.
Front Cover of UK Dreamcast magazine, issue 0. The headline reads "Turn me on!", while a short-haired woman blows a kiss over the top of a Dreamcast controller.
A two-page spread features legendary game designer Yuji Naka as part of a feature on the important figures who will shape Dreamcast.
Part of the magazine is devoted to a "Sega Rally 2" inspired fashion shoot. Cars zoom by while models stand on a dirt road, or sit behind the wheel. There is much pouting.
A review of Dreamcast launch title Sonic Adventure, by Charlie Brooker. The intro reads "One day all games will look this good. Right now, only this does."

This must be one of the strangest editorial directions a games mag has ever taken! Fashion shoots sit alongside gushing interviews with fantastic photography all round, and there's some stuff about games, too.
Must've cost a bomb to make! #Dreamcast #Sega
Totally understand, I’ve got almost nothing left to play in my pile of shame.. honest…!
That demo was the most I played MGS2, endless antics! Then I bought the retail release and, well, we all know how that played out!

Hey new MiSTer owners... here are some settings for your modern display that I hope get you started!
I do make tweaks to these or use completely different settings depending on the core (oddly fond of LCD display for PC Engine), but my default settings in mister.ini are..
#retrogaming #misterfpga
Really enjoying a bit of Soldier Blade on the PC Engine. These Hudson shooters are safely before the bullet hell era and I like how “easy” there are - there, I said it!
Running on #misterfpga.. and I won’t apologise for using LCD-style filter, I love it on PCE core!
Explains why the things I make with LEGO (for the kids, honest) look the way they do! 🥰
thanks - apparently it takes us a long time to finish things, too! 😅
Cheers - started out with a dot pattern I printed out and stuck on a board.. and remained that way for about 4 years until I finally got back to it a few weeks ago!
